Maybe I'm just overly suspicious, but I find it hard to believe that someone who has been a DIS member for nearly a year with over 400 posts would post 2 such hot-topic questions in one day! Pool hopping and refillable mugs are two hotly debated issues which I (who is still earning her ears) figured out very early. Call me skeptic, but I don't buy it.

I thought the same thing.

I thought me and my buddies were the only ones dumb enough to do that!

(no insult intended)

but it hurts when you learn you can't out run bees
then do it again to make sure
That's hilarious! Back in the old days (I'm speaking only of myself!) we played outside and had to make up things to do, not always using our heads! No video games for us :teeth:

A good rule of thumb is that .......... and you cannot pay child rates for children.

WHAT?! :) You mean I have to pay the adult price for my 4-year-old? I thought that is why they HAVE Child prices, so that I could pay it for my child. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Sorry. Don't hit me..... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

The moderators should just shut the thread down, the question was answered. You can't pool hop, you can't look for an empty room and take a nap and you can't bring your laundry from downtown Orlando to do in the Villa's!
You can't??? Dang! Does anybody have any suggestions for how I can do my laundry and have fun at the same time?

Yes, swim at the pool in your own resort and do laundry at the same time.. :cheer2:

Actually the main pool at POP is a lot of fun......we liked it better the AKL and CBR....but then my family is more into having a good time and not worrying about what other's are doing. Although on these threads I do have a good time reading how others freak out over such stupid things as pool hopping and mug refilling, it's like watching preschoolers tattle on each other....so pathetic. my thought are let Disney take care of the pool hoppers and the rest of yall GROWUP!!!!!!

I agree...I'll be too busy enjoying time with my family to be amused by people being carded or whatever. :confused3

Why can't the question just be answered without the sarky comments...it never will though.

Your right Lorraine some here need to grow up. I watched a film called God bless the child last night...about a homeless mum and daughter.....It makes me angry at the pettiness about pool hopping. :confused3

Except, of course, that even DVC members can't hop to Stormalong Bay (unless they're staying at YC/BC/BCV, in which case it's not hopping anyway :)) or the Animal Kingdom Lodge pool.

The issue is that people continue to ask about being able to pool hop. There is a search function. And there are enough threads, closed down by the way, concerning hopping that you would think that people would 'get it' by now. Especially those who have been around for more than three days.
If you have ever stayed at one of the resorts with a more desirable pool then you are aware of what pool hopping does. The hoppers take up seats around the pool, they add many more people to the pool itself, making it a less enjoyable time for those who have paid for the right to swim there. There is signage at each pool that states that 'the pool is for the use of those guests staying at this resort'..not the WDW resort, that particular resort!!!! There's a reason no one hops to the pools at the values or CR....they are not as spectacular. I actually overhead someone at POR severa years ago saying.."This pool is so much better than ours. I love having the slide. It's not as good as that volcano one but it's harder to get in there."

There is a search function.
To be fair, the Search function has been very unreliable for the past month or so. Alex has been looking into it, but as far as I know, no resolution has yet been found.

I do agree you with, goofy4tink, that members should express their concern about inconsiderate actions taken by other guests that could result in a negative impact on the enjoyment of their own vacation, or higher costs down the line (such as for enforcement). No one should presume to declare what should or shouldn't be important to anyone else in this regard.

That's because no one IS taking the chair you paid for or crowding the pool you paid for! I stayed in POP in October and you know something? I did enjoy their pool! AKL and VWL were so crowded (by people who were not paying for it) POP was empty and very relaxing!
That said, I will report people who are at resort pools without paying for it in a second! I worked very hard for my money, a concept a lot of people don't get, and the idea that I couldn't even sit by the pool at AKL and watch my Granddaughter swim still makes me fume!
Yall have a good day!

Caught my eye too missy and I agree. Guess they just like poking the bear.

What is funny is that this thread has remained relatively calm, so it didn't work. :rotfl:

People need to understand that we all have financial limitations. I would love to spend a few nights in a Yacht Club suite or a suite at the Grand Floridian! You know, where the rich and famous vacation? Have you looked at those rooms? Gorgeous. I cannot afford it, however! I am fortunate enough now to have a DVC ownership and go to Disney every year. With free dining twice a year, maybe. :teeth: I did not go to Disney EVER before my 50th birthday! Most of that time we could not afford it! My youngest is about to graduate college, none of my children suffered from Disney deprival! I am happy for what I have now. There is a big difference between desiring something and being resentful of what someone else has. I recently had a long conversation with Carli about this "problem". They are cracking down but they need more people calling Disney about it. To me it is "theft of services" as well as a security issue. If anyone can access the pool anyone can access the rooms!

I see you actually are busy illegally pool hopping, but everyone else should grow up?
This is what Loraine posted and bragged about in March!

We are hoppers everytime. We love to visit all the parks but MK is our all time fav. Usually we like shorter visits at MGM and Epcot, so we spend half day at each park (mornings at MGM and evenings at EPCOT). The hopper pass is also great because we can hop back and forth to all the perades. On the day you are at AK you will want the hopper pass so that when the park closes early you can hit another park. This trip our goal is to make it to each of the magic hours (morning and night for all the parks) at least once. If we did not have the hopper pass that would be much harder. This trip we are traveling in a big group (some teens) so the hopper pass is more important then ever.

When you consider that you are already spending so much on a WDW vacation, you might as well spend the little bit extra...it really does make the vacation much more enjoyable. I saved money by getting the limited hopper pass. I can go back and forth to the four parks but it does not include the water parks. We never use the water parks anyway. It is much more fun to hotel hop. What we do is when we are at a park and are hot and need a break we take the transportation to one off the hotels, we try out their pool, have a drink at the pool bar and then head back to a park. On different days visit all the different hotels and use there pools. __________________

Couldn't have said it better! ;)

FGS....i think this thread should be closed now...is there any need for this vindictivness :confused3 ...to actually do a search on another poster, to try and dig up negative posts is pretty sad. :sad2:

Its obviously a major issue to lake ariel...but you are taking it too fAR....if you react this strongly to a pool chair being taken that you paid for...god only knows how you react to more serious issues.

You know sometimes Iam really put off taking my kids any where near disney with this horrible horrible attitude about.

This thread should close.. :wave2:

Obviously others disagree.
