Pool Hop to Poly?

Yes, you can pool hop to any pools except the Y&B and the AKL pools. The only exception is the blackout dates DVC sometimes imposes for holiday/peak times. They also ask that you call the front desk of the resort before you head over to be sure it's okay that particular day.

We did this last summer while staying at VWL. I will have to say that we were asked for our IDs at the pool. I went to pick up some towels and was not given any until I showed my room key. I noticed that all people were asked for IDs when getting towels, not just us.

We had a great time doing this. We set aside an entire day to pool hop. We were also asked for ID at SAB and given a wrist band. (This was before no pool hopping at SAB) Boardwalk did not ask for IDs, but it was getting ready to storm and only a handful of people were by the pool.

We also pool-hopped to the Poly pool last summer. We took a bag with swim stuff and put it in a locker at Magic Kingdom. Then we took the monorail over to the Poly in the late morning and swam for a while. Then we dried off, changed and headed back to BWV for the afternoon.

It's a very nice pool with a zero entry and the sand beach right next to it. It has a nice slide too and great theming (like everything else at the Polynesian).

Enjoy!!

We pool hoppd last Dec. I called ahead and the front desk was clueless. So went anyway, upon arriving at the pool I spoke to a life guard to let them know we were members. She had no idea what I was talking about. SHe went and spoke to the rec manager at the Poly who came out apologized for no one knowing what I was talking about and assured me the staff would be informed of DVC members pool hopping privileges. He was very nicew and chatted for about an hour. We then changed and had dinner at the Kona Cafe. After which we went down to the beach and watched the fireworks. My boys love that pool!

The Poly has a really nice changing room/bathroom right off of the pool. It had a wonderful scent of cinnamon which was a nice touch. Usually they smell of over powerful chlorine.

I have never been to the Poly. I have no idea why!! I will make it a point to get myself there NEXT time. Last summer we pool hopped from MK to the GF for a mid afternoon break. Thank goodness we did-a horrible lightening storm hit as we were leaving the pool.

Anyway, we were never asked for ID at all. only time ever asked was at SAB, when we were staying there.
