I know I can probably find this on the Disney website, but it is easier here, thanks for your patience and help.

We are staying at POR and are very excited for the girls' to play in the pool. They are younger and want to know if the depth of the pool is too deep for them to touch bottom. Does anyone know the depths of the pools, particularly around the slides? Are they allowed to uses floats or bubbles in the pools?

Thanks again.

Much of the pool areas are 3-4 feet deep.
Typically the main pool which has lifeguards does not allow floats, but the quiet pools with no guards have them. Can you use the floaties that go around their upper arms? Each resort has life jackets they can borrow.

We have always used pool floats at the main pool at CSR without a problem. Most areas are between 3 and 4 feet as the PP said. I think closer to 4 ft near the slides.

They usually use those "bubbles" that go around their bellies and have the three foam layers on their backs. My main concern is the younger one who is just over 40 inches, I want her to follow her big sister on the water slides at POR and POFQ. They are very good in the water, with noodles, and the inflatable rings.

We will hardly ever be out of arms-length but want them to be independent and going down the slides.

1) Definitely allowed
. . . arm float bands (aka, swim wings)
. . . noodles (long slender floats)
. . . small belly inflatable rings
. . . belly life savers (like water skiing devices)
. . . life jackets/vests (available at all resort pools)
2) Usually not allowed
. . . lay-down float beds
. . . float "chairs"
. . . large inflatable balls
. . . tire or inner tubes or floats approx that size
3) Large items
. . . obstruct life guard views of the pool and pool bottom
. . . these create potentially dangerous situations

Thanks RS, that makes me feel better, now I know they will have a great time!!

1) You are welcome.
2) Enjoy your trip.

By the Way: You don't need to be so formal. You needn't address me as
"RS". You can just call me by my first name, "The".

LOL! Thanks for the giggle this morning. Your post got rid of my Monday morning grumpies. :)

I think that your kids are fine in the pool. The question is what will they allow on the slide. Some floats/life vests scratch the slides. I have only seen one picture of someone going down WDW pool slides with a vest on. Does anyone know for sure about slide usage with vests/floats and does it depend on the resort, i.e. open slide like POFQ vs. closed slide like at YC/BC?
