We like the prices of POFQ - but only 2 Double beds.
For a pinch more - about $60/night - we could stay at WL
with Disney Visa rates.
I think POFQ = $89/night - Disney Visa
and WL = $144/night - Disney Visa

In any event - my DS & DD will not sleep together - that would make a cot rental at POFQ ($25 more per night).
So prices are about the same. I would request a bunkbed room at WL.

DS & DD like pools with slides - both pools seem to have a nice slide.
But the pools both look on the small size for the size of the resorts.

Maybe mys kids are spoiled, they have done the Swan/Dolphin and CR. Both pools look bigger and were not crowded in the afternoon.

How are the pools at POFQ & WL in the afternoon ?
Seats available ?
Clean dry towels in abundance ?
Does it feel like bumper to bumper people in the pool ?
Long wait to go on the slide ? More than 5 mins ?
Does anyone know the length of either slide ?

My DS & DD desire the Polynesian (great pool, daybed) but even with Disney Visa it's $244/night.

Please help

Ive been to both places and all pools. The Pools crowdedness will depend on season and time of day and weather. Morning is usually the best. After can get crowded. Both pools at POFQ and at WL can get crowded. At POFQ you are allowed to use the bigger pool at PORiverside which is close by.

The towel situation at the delux resort is much much much much better than at the moderates in my humble view. But then you are paying for it I guess.

The slide at WL is better than at PQFQ, but then the slides at all the moderates are better than any slide at the moderates.

I would go with the WL considering you have to pay $25 extra for a cot.

WALT2DAY,

WELCOME to the DIS

POFQ has approximately 1,000 guest rooms
Riverside Resort has 2,048 rooms,
Port Orleans and Dixie Landings merged! These 2 moderate resorts have been "sister" resorts since they opened, sharing a common waterway, bus system and other services. The "new" resort is being called Port Orleans, with the former Port Orleans called the French Quarter, and the former Dixie Landings called the Riverside. The change went into effect on March 1, 2001. Guest my use each others pools.

The WL Has 728-room plus the an additional 136 Villas.

So I would just do the math 3,048 or 864 rooms.

As to your other questions I have always been able to get a chair at WL but it can be crowded. (just like any resort during peak times)

The slide at WL is a continuous cycle I have never timed it. (down the slide into the water, out of the water up the slide) My nephews never seem to mind the wait. If they tire of the slide we will walk over to the pool at the Villas and enjoy some quite time there.

Plenty of towels available at either pool.

Try packing an air mattress. We've done this before. It's not too hard. Don't forget the inflator! I just don't like paying extra $ for a bed when I could be spending it on more important things, like filling my pressed penny book. The mattress fits really nice in between the beds. My DD was very secure.

Thanks !
I loved the idea of an air mattress.
But I think we will go with the WL.

Closer to MK and the Hoop-D-Doo.
