Just noticed this site today...It is great reading about everyone's weight losses!
My DH took me on our dream trip to Disney in 2001 after trying multiple treatments to concieve without any luck. We had been trying since 1997 and ever time I took a pregancy test and it failed I'm sure I would gain 10 pounds the next day! Even though I kept buying bigger sizes in clothes (a 24 before we left on the trip) I didn't realize how much I actually weighed. When we got our pictures back from our vacation I was shocked! I had my picture taken with POOH bear and when I looked at that picture I couldn't believe that I was as big as POOH! That picture change me forever! I bought scales the next day. I weighed 249.5 pounds! I decided that I had to take control and knew no "diet" would help me loose that much weight! I wanted to be healthy and happy again. I joined a water areboics class once a week and started walking 20 minutes a day Mon-Fri. Every week I would try a new "healthy" choice. The 1st week I started to drink 2 litres of water a day...the 2nd week I decided no more butter...the 3rd week no frying any food...the 4th no added sugar...the 5th week 1 dark green veggie every day...the 6th week one orange veggie every day...the 7th week whole grain products...the 8th week skim milk... the 9th week no more food after supper...the 10th week take a multivitimin... in 14 weeks I lost 20 pounds and I was pregant!!!!Without any treatment! After I had my beautiful princess I weighed 222. I actually losted 4.5pounds. For a total of 24.5pounds. For the next year I stayed the same wieght. Once I stopped breast feeding the weight started to come off again. In 10 weeks I lost 23 pounds and weighed 199!!!
Then I gained 2 pounds and guess what I was pregant again!!! Pretty good for someone who was told they would probably never have any children. This pregancy was different I gained alot of weight. Never really ate alot but gained alot of weight. The week before I had my second princess I weighed 245pounds...so upset. I had my second beautiful princess and by time I went for my for my 6 week check up I was 209 pounds. I got back to 199 very quickly!
Since than I have lost another 26 pounds and now weigh 173 pounds.
My goal is to loose another 14 pounds before this summer because once I hit 159 I will no longer over weight! When I started this in 2001 my goal was not to be over weight on my 30 Birthday. It doesn't look like I will meet that goal though...a little dissapointed but I had no idea that I would end up having 2 dd's when I made the goal. I now plan to be no longer over weight with a couple of months of my birthday. Taking my weight loss in small steps have made it much easier to maintain.
We are going on a cruise and to WDW in Nov and I would like to have all my weight gone. I plan on searching for POOH and getting a new picture taken! That picture in 2001 changed my life forever! POOH bear saved me! I finally understood that dieting does NOT work. So I changed my life...the way I eat...the way I think. So far I have lost 73.5 pounds and went from a size 24 to a size 8/10.
2001 - 249.5
2002 - 222 ( First dd was born!)
2003 - 199
2004 - 199 (Second dd was born I gained 46 pounds but lost it again)
2005 - 189
Jan 1, 2007 - 188 (Ready to get rid of the rest of the weight...now I know I can maintain it)
March 16 - 173
April 9 - 169
May 8- 168 (Yeah 20 pounds gone!!! A Total of 81.5pounds)

July 1 - 163.5
