hi all:D
sorry if this has been asked before, can you get different colour poncho's or different themed one's i have seen posts saying there were yellow one's we didn't need these on our last trip as we went in november and had no rain, this time we are going in june and are expecting a lot of rain;)

thanks in advance
eve:D

I only know of the yellow poncho. As for themes, I've seen the regular Mickey one and the '100 Years of Magic' one but I don't think the latter is sold anymore.

I did see a few people with different Disney designed ponchos, but very few.
99% were the yellow Mickey ponchos.
When we were there last week we thought everyone looked like a banana and you could could smell the plastic in the air!
We bought the cheap $1 from Target but they were pretty useless. My dauhter poked a hole in hers trying to get it over her head.
We finally just gave up and went without. I didnt want to spend the extra money on the Mickey ones, plus they make you take it off everytime you get on a ride-too much of a hassle.

Hoping you wont need them on your trip!

thank you to you both:D i am also hoping we won't need them although i really don't know what to expect when it comes to the florida rain we went in november and the weather was absolutly brilliant but anyway at least if it does rain we will be at the most magical place in the world:Pinkbounc :D :Pinkbounc :D

ugh! Eve... periods are our friends! A few sprinkled though your post would make it much more pleasant to read. (And and uppercase letter or two!)

We always take the 99 (oh my gosh, no cent sign!).... $.99 throw-away ponchos, a couple for each person. They are VERY easy to carry. When it stops raining, just throw it away!

we also bring cheap poncho's from home. Anamial Kingdom sells a tan poncho.

Uktigger - The yellow ponchos are fairly durable, but the only problem is that when the rain comes down WDW turns into a sea of bright yellow. It's very easy to lose people in the mess, and of course that's an even bigger problem if you're travelling with children. The tan ponchos from AK are less popular and might be a better choice if you're planning to hit AK earlier on in your trip.

I just got back today...after a soggy week at WDW! We used the ponchos nearly every day.

We brought some blue ones from previous DL trips, which got a lot of stares in a sea of yellow. I also brought some Target 99 cent kind, which we hated. They were not durable for the constant use.

Two of our DL ponchos finally bit the dust, so we bought two of the generic yellows. I had my daughter wear the blue DL so she stood out from everyone.

It was a sea of ponchos! And yes, I can still smell the plastic!!

I did see beige AK ponchos, but didn't see them for sale at AK.

Disney used to have different color poncho's depending on which park you bought it at. But now all they sell are the yellow ones. I found this out last year when I wore my old beige one from the animal kingdom. I had several cast members ask to buy it because they can't get them anymore. As I remember it, the ones from Epcot used to be white with blue lettering. I don't remember what MGM had.

We were there last week and saw some "clear" Mickey ponchos for sale. They had a sort of frosted clear look! Thought that might be a good idea because you could still see the color of your family's clothing and not blend in the sea of yellow! Didn't need any new ones though, so I did not buy one.

We had to buy the clear ones. If any of you remember the night of the 18th, Monday, tornado warnings??? We had our yellow ones from previous visit, but left them in the room since it didn't look threatening in the least when we left. Also had 3 cheaper ones, $.69. Incredibly thin and stuck to your skin. Yuck!!! But we did carry the clear WDW ones from then on. Well, except for the day of our trail ride. Biiiig mistake. Anyway. We were never asked/told to take our ponchos off when we got on a ride. I did, however, really bug my dd about making sure her poncho wasn't dragging, hanging over the sides, etc. when she got on a ride. We also found that if you wear a baseball style cap under the hood of the poncho, it keeps the rain off your face/glasses.

I didnt want to spend the extra money on the Mickey ones, plus they make you take it off everytime you get on a ride-too much of a hassle.
I wish they had made everyone take off their ponchos when we were there. If one person wears a wet poncho on the ride, then the next person will have a wet seat to sit in. We quit taking our ponchos off on indoor rides in order to keep our rear-ends from getting wet.
