PolynesianBride'sPJ 12/6/10 Sunset Pointe- TEASER PICS UP!

Thanks for all the nice compliments everyone!:goodvibes I really LOVE how they turned out! If anyone is interested her website is:

www.amberspixeldust.com

I think we may actually have her do some more of us before the wedding because there were a few locations we wanted to get to but we ran out of sunlight:headache: Amber likes to do her pics 1 hours before sunset... I was kinda doubting her on this- especially since all day long it had been beautiful clear blue skies and about an hour before she came it became totally overcast. I even called her 30 minutes before thinking maybe we should reschedule- she said "we can if you want but I think it being overcast will diffuse the light great and we'll get awesome pics":confused3 So I went along with it and am glad I did- there are definately some shots I wish had blue skies but I can't complain.

The only thing I really wish I would have done differently would have been to have not rushed on my hair! I had just done it down (like I do everyday) and at the last minute I decided I wanted it pulled off my face. I never really do anything with my hair so I just stuck a bunch of bobby pins in to hold it not caring how it looked from behind bc I wasn't thinking she would take pics of the back of my head:rotfl: Oh well, I'm sure Patricia will make sure the back of my head looks good on the wedding day. What did you ladies think of the make-up? I had it done at the MAC counter. For the most part I liked it but a couple pics I think it looks like too much- should I go with a more natural look for the wedding day or am I just not used to seeing myself with a lot of make up on? Any suggestions welcome!

I looked at the pictures before I read your most recent post and my comment was going to be how great your makeup looked. I wouldn't change it too much. Your pictures are fabulous by the way. What a bargain!

Adelia the pictures look awesome! She captured some great moments between you two! :) You're both very photogenic!

Ok catch up time!

1st- your e-pics are gorgeous! You look amazing (I wish my hair looked like your when I don't style it!) The fountain ones are my fave, you look so happy, and the fact that your in a fountain is fun because its a little rebelous which I love! So cute Adelia!

2nd- your centerpiece ideas are awesome, I am looking to do small floating candles too so i may steal some of those girl!

3rd- Hows the trainer going? Hopefully your "feeling the burn" lol! I bet its awesome:goodvibes

Thanks! It's so nice to have someone's input on these things! That's why I love my DISbrides:lovestruc I can't wait to see your wedding pics when they come back- your teasers are great!

Her website is great! I think you found a gem, there!
Thanks Heidi! She is soooo wonderful! I think my favorite photos that she does are of people's birth expeiences- did you see those? It sounds wierd but it is so cool- she comes to the hospital and stays with you during the whole labor process and documents the whole thing- and it's totally tasteful. I don't think we'll be living in MN when we start having kids though- maybe I can fly her in:laughing:

Awwww- thanks Heather! We had so much fun doing it and I think it will help me relax a little more on the wedding day knowing that we've had pics that turned out good!

They are lovely photos!:goodvibes
Thanks Gemma:goodvibes

YAY SAM'S BACK:woohoo: Missed you! 1)You are so funny- it's not that I totally didn't do my hair I still blow dried it and straightened it (I always have to do that:headache:) it's just that I didn't pay any attention to what the back looked like:sad2: oh well- i still have plenty of good pics. 2)Definately steal some pics- it doesn't look like i'll be doing floating candles so i'll be glad if someone can get some use out of those pics. 3)The trainer is going well. Her name is Nancy and she is just soooo great- she really knows how to motivate me it's awesome! This week has been crazy so I won't work out with her this week but that's ok- I'm still doing the work-out on my own. I have mastered the first set of exercises I posted before and am now learning a new set. We decided (Nancy and I) that getting 2 work-outs in a week is probably what's realistic with me given my work hours. I work 12.5-13 hour shifts and doing it 3 times a week there are defianately days I have to do it before going to work.
12 hours work + 1 hour intense exercise=:eek:exhaustion:faint:
Nancy assures me that even just with 2 days a week I will see results:yay: I can tell I'm getting stronger already. And I haven't totally quit McDonald's but have made MAJOR cut backs:cheer2:

OMG, I love your engagement pictures. You look beautiful and the two of you make such an adorable couple. They are wonderful!!!

I did see that! And I thought it was AWESOME! Funny, I had the same thought as you "wonder if she'd fly to...?"

Kinda funny that your photographer is called "Pixel Dust"... very appropriate for a DisBride:goodvibes

I'm sure she would love to... if you paid all her travel expenses:rotfl:

So it's been just over a week since I talked on the phone with my WC- Dianne. As I mentioned before there were a few things she was checking on for me and said she would get back to me on. But I haven't heard anything:confused:. I e-mailed her the pics of the leis and I received an e-mail back saying she was passing it on to the florist but no mention of any of my other questions. I know my wedding is far away and I have PLENTY of time to get everything figured out but I guess I'm just not a very patient person. I thought about sending her an e-mail just reminding her what we had talked about but didn't want to seem like a bridezilla so early in the game:lmao: I also e-mailed Stan with STVS some questions on Monday and haven't heard anything back from him either:confused3. Anyone else have trouble with being patient?????

I permently have this problem! Hope you hear soon! I think some of the photographers set aside days to respond to emails, I've noticed on some of mine I get replies on set days? I suppose otherwise they would spend all day long responding to our pesky bridal questions!

P.s. I noticed a new ticker???!!!

:banana:YES it's a new ticker!!!! We booked our flights awhile back bc we got free flight vouchers but I decided it's time to start the countdown. We will hit our 8 month booking mark while we're there too so it will be a very exciting week for me!!!!

P.S. I'm glad you're having the same issues as me, not because I'm evil :stir: and want you to have issues but because it means I'm not alone:hug:

So to calm my impatient self I have been obsessing over cakes! YUMMY!

First off flavors (since how it tastes is really the most important)... I REALLY wish there was some way to do a cake tasting but alas I can't so I luckily have all my DISbrides to help me! As of right now I'm thinking for the top layer lemon cake with tropical mousse and for the bottom marble cake with raspberry mousse- any one with thoughts on these would be greatly appreciated! Also does anyone know if the boardwalk bakery has these flavors that I could sample when we're down there in April without having to get an entire cake?

Now for the outside! This is the original cake picture that I fell in love with before I even knew we were getting married at Disney:
colorfulweddingcake.jpg

Which is basically a Mad Hatter cake which is Disney's specialty! I won't post my entire collection of mad hatter's since I'm sure you all have your own folder filled with these pics but here are 2 other mad hatter type cakes that aren't from Disney:

moderncake.jpg

Then when we decided on our tropical theme I started falling in love with cakes like these:
sandcastle.jpg

I just love the sand castle topper
seaweddingcake.jpg

starfishweddingcake.jpg

But the more I thought about it we are doing tropical but not really 'under the sea'

This one I think is cool and would definately go with our theme but for some reason just isn't what I had in mind but thought I would post it bc it's really unique
Picture143.jpg

Then these last 2 I really just love the floral on:

I also really love the Mickey Wave cake:
mickeywavecake.jpg

So bascially I love all cakes:lmao: But the more I've thought about it I'm thinking that maybe I should just stick with one of the Escape options- I really have enough upgrades planned already:lmao: So here are the Escape options (stolen from Lurkyloo:thumbsup2) for those of you who aren't familiar:
escapecakes1.jpg

From left to right: Mickey's Delight, Classic Romance, and Modern Deco

escapecakes2.jpg

Again left to right: Elegant Scrolls and Roses & Drapes

I think I have it narrowed down to either Mickey's Delight in silver with adding tropical floral as posted in the first cake or the Modern Deco (only if they can do it in fuschia instead of white and orange instead of chocolate) and then maybe add a few green orchids to it. I think I'm leaning towards the Modern Deco in pink and orange (still waiting to hear from Dianne if they can do this for sure or not:rolleyes1 but she thought it shouldn't be a problem)- I feel it will go more with the fun casual feel we want for our day. Any opinions welcome:goodvibes

Lol you remind me of...well me!! I went through the same cake dilema.

Let me tell you, when we were planning an escape wedding I bought a birthday cake for DF at the Boardwalk...just to try the flavors before the wedding. It was $50 but TOTALLY worth it! We had vanilla with fruit mousse and whipped cream. TO DIE FOR!! Obviously for a wedding cake, you couldn't do whipped cream but still!!:lovestruc

I like the first cake on the bottom shelf. I think it would be really pretty with some tropical floral. I am not a huge fan of the modern cake, plus I don't think it fits your theme.

If you don't go with an escape cake, I pick this one :)

Ooooh, I think modern deco with pink and orange and the extra floral would be stunning!!! Yes yes yes I love it!!!

I've got to say I love all your cake ideas .... if it was me I would be really tempted to upgrade hehe! BUT I think modern cake would look fabby in those colours too! I can't decide!:goodvibes
