PolynesianBride'sPJ 12/6/10 Sunset Pointe- TEASER PICS UP!

Congrats on the personal trainer! That's a great way to get back into shape! And yay for a consultant. Now you can attack her with all your questions, hehe

I had her briefly and she was nice although the others i've had were even better. Lyndsay had her and loved her.

Adelia,

OK....i just finally got caught up on your PJ!! I am SOOO behind on the boards!! My computer bit the dust after we had lighting strike our house last Thursday!! I have been having to use other people's computers...annoying!! Anyhoo, I have a few questions for you. With your wedding dinner at Ohana, do you know if they have a private room for groups? Also, will you be able to have favors on the table? I love the dress you got!!! It fits you so well, and you look beautiful in it!! I am sorry you had such a horrible time with all those wedding shops though. We also are going with Misty!! I didn't realize that you could book her at 18 month out, which for us will be in December. How much of a deposit did you have to make, if you don't mind me asking?

Here is my 2 cents about the training thing. I have struggled with my weight my whole life and have always been overweight. Finally in October, I figured I was going to do something about it...I have been training with my personal trainer since then and feel really good. I have lost 25 pounds so far, and 3% body fat. I have also lost several inches all over my body. I never thought that I would be able to do this, but I have amazingly been able to stick with it. I train 4 days a week with the trainer, and do one other day on my own. I am proud to say that I have not eaten any fast food since October, which at first was hard, but now, I don't even really want it. So, I know that if I can do it, so can you!!!! :goodvibes

Hopefully I will be able to be on here again soon, I need to update my PJ big time!!

Yayyyyyy! You got Diane too - that means we both might get the same planner too when it comes round to it because our weddings being close together!

Diane is really sweet, she drove us round all the places we wanted to see and in person, she is really genuine and down to earth... we had a laugh with her on our site visit.

With her emailing, its okay, sometimes she emails back straight away to let me know she has recieved it and will get back to me, sometimes i guess she must be really busy and doesnt get back to me for about 3 -5 days. When i have emailed her, my emails have been all over the place full of questions and she normally replies back copying what i have wrote- then writing next to it in a different colour the awnser so its really clear and she really reads through and takes time reading your mail.

Anyways, its all gooooooood news!

Adelia! I just found your PJ and I LOVE IT. I am seriously in love with all of your choices, your wedding is going to be amazing. The tropical theme is perfect for Florida and all of your decor choices really tie in well with the Polynesian. :thumbsup2

Your dress is stunning so I'm not surprised that no other dresses matched up after that beauty! :lovestruc I think you will always be 100% happy that you bought that dress, and really that's worth any price, right? RIGHT. And I have to say, I think the buttons will be the perfect final touch. Ryan is going to have a heart attack when he sees you in that dress!

And I hear you on being unmotivated to work out. Once I go to the gym a few times I actually start to get into it, but getting to that point is brutal when all I want to do is :surfweb: and :happytv:!!

I'll definitely be following along from here on out. Good luck with the rest of your planning!

So today when DF woke me up he said "Disney called you today:cool1: I know because it was a 407 number:rotfl:" Sure enough while I was sleeping away Dianne called from DFTW and she will be my consultant:goodvibes. I know Stacey has her... anyone else know anything about her???? She sounded very nice on her message:confused3 It was past 5 Disney time when I got the message so I will have to try to call her back tomorrow!

Yeahy!!! I got Kristy - I just need to make tiem to phone her back :goodvibes

congrats on the consultant. that's so exciting!! :yay::yay::yay:
:goodvibesThanks!:goodvibes
Adelia, congrats on getting your WC!!!!:goodvibes
:goodvibesThanks Tammy!:goodvibes

Congrats on the personal trainer! That's a great way to get back into shape! And yay for a consultant. Now you can attack her with all your questions, hehe
Hehe when she sees all my questions she's going to run away!

Oh yay!!! Hopefully she's great!
Right now we're playing phone tag but I'm hoping for the best!

I had her briefly and she was nice although the others i've had were even better. Lyndsay had her and loved her.
YAY! I can deal with nice! When I switch from the consultant to the planner though that's when I'll need the BEST!

MAURE! YAY! I'm glad you were able to check in! So sorry to hear about the lightning incident:scared1: Ohana's does not have a private dining room- I wish they did but DF thinks that the restaurant atmosphere is half the fun. What I have heard is that large groups usually get either the first or last reservation (i believe it's 5:00 or 9:30) then they sit you at one of the long tables right in front of the grill (the pic on the first page of my PJ is of those 2 tables). I'm not really sure about the favors yet. I'm hoping to be able to have the Disney Florist put up a few centerpieces for me and then hopefully right before dinner I can have my brother's gf run back and put the favors out... I'll let you know when I find out for sure on this though. As for Misty I don't think she has a set time frame in which you can put a deposit down... I think it's just whenever you're sure. The deposit is 25% of your package price. She also gives a 15% discount for all Disney brides! Also congrats on your success with your trainer:yay: I'm so glad to hear it's worked well for you! I just plan on doing one day a week with my trainer and then 2 on my own but think/hope I will see good results!

Yayyyyyy! You got Diane too - that means we both might get the same planner too when it comes round to it because our weddings being close together!

YAY! I'm so glad to hear you like Dianne. She said on the voice mail she left not to be worried if we don't get in touch right away because we have plenty of time... but I still hope we get in touch soon so I can ask all my questions!

YAY Kimmers! I'm glad you'll be following along! I'm glad you like the dress! I debated soooo many hours over it but am happy with my decision. I hope Ryan doesn't have too much of a heart attack when he sees me or our happily ever after will be too short:laughing: I do really hope he likes it though... I would love to get a reaction! I'm really hoping that I can keep up with my new exercise routine... yesterday went well and although I'm really sore today I'm kind of excited to do it again tomorrow!!!

Yeahy!!! I got Kristy - I just need to make tiem to phone her back :goodvibes
YAY for getting our consultants!!!!:woohoo:
Yay for getting your WC!!! I'm so happy for you! :woohoo:
And stay away from that mcd's!!!! lol
Thanks Katie!!!!! I'm off from that job til Monday so the weekend is atleast gauranteed to be McD's free!!!!

So yesterday was my first workout with my trainer and I loved it:yay: and hated it all at the same time:laughing: She really kicked my butt! It really made me realize how out of shape I am:scared1: I'm really sore today too... and have to do it all again tomorrow on my own:scared: I'm excited to try it but worried that I'll still be super sore. So here's the basics of this week's routine for anyone who's interested:

WARM UP: Jump rope for 5 min (i'm so out of shape i can't do this for 5 min straight:sad2: so i walk in place in between:guilty:)
Then this is the meat of the program I run through it 3 times in a row:

1. High knee front and back lunges 12 each side (goal will be 15 then will add weights)
2. These weird things I call butt bumps:rotfl: You get down in a low squat with your elbows bent so your fists are just under your chin then you pump your butt up and down- goal 20 times (this looks easy but BURNS I couldn't do 20:sad2:) then I do 10 knee to elbow things another 20 butt bumps:rotfl: then 10 more knee to elbow (these are easy but once again eventually will be with weights)
3. Push-ups Goal will be 15 right now I can only do 6-7 and then I do "negative" push-ups to make a total of 10. She was actually impressed that I could do 6-7 push ups. She said a lot of her clients can't do any when they start but that within 6 weeks she gets them up to 15 usually. The key is the "negative push-ups" this is where you start in push-up position slowly lower yourself to the floor then use your body to get you back in starting position again.
4. Then I do a "t-Bar" row with 8 lb weights, 12-15 reps. Standing position lean forward a little keeping back straight and shoulders up, start with palms toward your body and pull up bending your elbows til your upper arms are straight out from your shoulders with elbows at 90 degrees.
5. Military Press 5 lb weights 12-15 reps- Palms facing out hands at shoulder height raise arms above head.
5.5 Then "side lateral raise" (she added this bc she noticed I'm weak here) 3 lbs weights 12-15 reps hold weight at your sides elbows slightly bent and bring arms out so arms are straight with your shoulders (elbows remain slightly bent)
6. Bicep Curls 8 lb weights 12-15 reps- just your basic bicep curl... start with arms at your side palms facing toward body then curl up so palms are toward ceiling
7. Kickbacks 5 lb weight 12-15 reps. Works triceps. Lean forward keeping back straight and shoulders and head up. Elbows behind you bent at 90 degress so upper arm is parallel to floor. Keep elbows stationary and straighten arms behind you.

That's it... I run through it 3 times then it's on to abs. I was too exhausted to actually do these well at the end but there's 3 moves

ABS:
1. "Alternating Straight Leg Toe touch" 30 reps
2. "Alternating Straight Leg Hip Raise" 25 reps
3. "Core Hold" this is again decieving- looks easy but BURNS!!!!

Then she streched me out. This was crazy... I've stretched before but never had someone else stretch me. It was way more effective than stretching on my own... anyone else ever have a trainer stretch them????

If anyone's interested I can have DF take pics of me doing the moves and I can PM them to you (just like the fitness magazines:lmao:) It was definately hard but I would rather do this than cardio anyday... when I'm on the elliptical and want to die I still have to do 15 more minutes with this I also wanted to die but then only had to do a few more reps then move on to another area:) And actually today I haven't really wanted any junk food... I really hope I'm turning over a new leaf!!! I know there are lots of you doing different types of fitness/diet programs and just wanted to say:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I was so shocked when I first read you got a personal trainer! Me: " What?! She has a fantastic body! She so doesn't need one!" Lol! But then I went back and read how you eat! You naughty girl! :rotfl: But totally I commend you for going ahead with taking better care of yourself! That's awesome! You're going to look even more beautiful, and feel great too!

Ok i'm sore just reading that! :lmao:
:lmao: Ugh I've never been so sore in my life:lmao:

Aww:blush:thanks for the nice compliments:goodvibes I know working out doesn't totally make up for my naughty eating habits but it will help and I'm slowly changing my eating habits too:upsidedow

So even though I'm just having a meal at Ohana's and not a private catered event I'm hoping they will let me jazz up the table a little bit so I've been gathering ideas. At first I was really leaning towards this style as it could definately be an easy DIY:

I also really liked these:

I thought the limes in the vase of this one was neat but don't really like the top part:

Then I found these and loved the tropical feel of them:

Tropical-Wedding-bg.jpg

The more I thought about it I think Ohana will be more likely to let me put decorations on the tables if I had it set up through the Disney Florist (plus then I won't have to worry about lugging glass vases to Disney)- so I decided to check out their website...

So I was definately pleased with the options I found on the Disney Florist website- I just wished they listed prices on everything:confused:
They had these really nice tropical ones similar to what I'd been looking at:
tropical-1.jpg

tropicalbirdscocktail.jpg

And then this one which is ~3 ft tall- probably too much for a centerpiece! It sounds like the Mickey vase it comes in is really cool though... "Three feet of tropical flowers will thrill her, of course, but it's the vase that will make her remember. Made for the true Disney fan, this sculptured vase chronicles Mickey Mouse from his days on Steamboat Willie through today."
gifttoremember.jpg

Will one of you mention to DF that I would like this sent to me the morning of our wedding to enjoy in our room for the honeymoon???:rotfl: This one is not listed under centerpieces so it has a price... $120:scared1:

Then I came across a couple options with my beloved cymbidium orchids:
touchoftheorient.jpg

cymbidiummarquis.jpg

cymbidiumsquared.jpg

This next one I really like (but would switch to orange calla lillies) but think it would take up too much space on the table... since Ohana is family style there has to be lots of room for all the yummy food:rolleyes:

I like the more tropical ones like I first posted but decided I want the floral to somewhat mimic my bouquet (which will be the tropical one from the escape option with some color changes: fuschia roses, orange calla lillies, and green cymbidium orchids).

So I found this one and think it will be perfect with a few modifications:
contemporaryswirl.jpg

Hopefully they will be able to do fuschia roses, orange calla lillies, and also stick a green cymbidium orchid in there (maybe in place of one of the roses so it's not too crowded). What do you think?

We will probably have one of the long tables right in front of the grill so was thinking of asking for a vase to put my bouquet in for the middle of the table then putting one of the single orchids in a dish on each side (but with pink stones) to space it out down the length of the table
cymbidiumsquared.jpg

then one of each of the centerpieces on each side
contemporaryswirl.jpg

then possibly another single orchid dish (depending on how long the table is)

I really hope they will let me do this! Has anyone ever done decorations in a restaurant before?

Adelia those are GORGEOUS! I love them all. I'm sure Disney Floral could do something like you're looking for.

Thanks Heidi! Glad you like them! I definately think Disney florist will be able to do the job... it's just a question of how much they will charge me and if the restaurant will allow it:confused:

Ooooh love all of those ideas :thumbsup2 You have such good taste!

Just a thought...What if you took the orchid in the pink stones (like you suggested) and throw a light cube in it??? It would give you the pink and some sort of sparkle or something a little different...isn't O'hana a little dark too??? Like I said...just a thought
