Polynesian Tower vs the original?

Hi again,
We are booked at Polynesian Tower in the new DVC tower I guess. My question is do these rooms still have the original Disney theming/flair that old school Disney rooms had before? My wife loves all the original Disney styling so just wanted to make sure these will meet up to expectations. Thank you in advance for your answers.

The tower has a very different design from the longhouses. The rooms are gorgeous but probably not what your wife is looking for.

You can look at the photos and see that its a modernized version.
I'd go with the original Poly DVC rooms if you want a more old school feel.

We've stayed in both and love the rooms at the Poly tower. They are reminiscent of Aulani in our minds. A few picturesL

Just curious - why do you ‘guess’ you’re in the Poly Tower? If you have a studio booked - it be in the Tower or the original Longhouses…

It says on the ticket that its deluxe studio but didnt actually state its a dvc. I found out from here I believe that it was part of that whole thing. I didn not know if there was/were any other towers at that resort.

Does the reservation say “Tower - Deluxe Studio” or just “Deluxe Studio”? If it says Tower, then that’s where it is. If it doesn’t say Tower, it’s in the longhouses on the other side of the resort. “Deluxe Studios” are all D.V.C., no matter which resort they’re in.

CarolynFH said it better than I could - both the Tower and the Longhouses are DVC, both have Studios, both are part of WDW Polynesian complex but they are not the same as far as room layout or decor.

When booking you would need to specifically book the tower studio. It's not like you're booking a studio and Disney would just put you in one or the other whether it be in 1 of the long houses or in the tower. Look at your reservation that would tell you.
