Does anyone know where I can find pictures of what the renovated rooms at the Polynesian look like?

Thanks for your help.

 Liz:wave:

my understanding is they look just like they did before the rehab only newer.

I saw the rooms 3 weeks ago and they are the same, just that the green color that used to be in the rooms is gone.

Have all of the rooms been redone or only in certain buildings?

I don't know what ga9497 means about the green color but here is a link to Robin's photos from the new rooms.

They are exactly the same as before just everything is new.

The buildings that have finished redoing the rooms are Tuvalu, Fiji, Aotearoa and Samoa should be done soon if they are not already.

Aloha

Steve

Tikiman, thanks for posting the link to Robin's pics! they were great!
looks to me, like they are the same except for the cover on the daybed and the chairs used to have a cushion??? I think maybe the daybeds used to be darker in color, which might be where ga9497 got the idea of "less green"

Laura, the chairs are the same as they've been for a long time. Cushion on the seat, no cushion on the back.

The picture of the daybed is of it after it's been made up for someone to sleep on. The cover is out of sight and what you see is the blanket and sheet.

I got the no more green from a cast member. I toured the rooms at the Polynesian the last week in February. I asked what was the difference in the rooms as they looked the same as I had seen in pictures.

I was told that the little green that was in the colors is gone.
Since I have never stayed there I figured that he knew what he was talking about.

I think that CM was smoking something green. The rooms and fabrics look exactly the same to me.

Thanks for the link, Steve. :) Robin has some great pix!

The bedding and overall colors look exactly the same to me. Here are some pix I have of my room in Tokelau. It was taken in May:

I have pictures from Rapa Nuie that show the cushions of the chairs being green. Perhaps some were green and some that coral color and now they'll all be the coral. Years ago some rooms had green bedspreads and some had coral. They were much thicker bedspreads, too BTW. I also think the big cushions on the bed were sometimes green but I'm not sure and can't find a picture. You'd think I'd remember after 20 some vacations there! We check into the Poly a week from today for 9 nights. I'll try to remember to notice!

The only time the bedspreads were any different and had green was before the refurbishment that started in 1996 and ended in 1998. During that time the rooms that had not been done yet would have looked different but after they were done all the rooms looked the same.

Steve I was talking pre-1996. We've been staying since 1983. In fact after the coral or green spreads I think they changed to a brown and black pattern more like the current pattern but not as colorful. The coral or green was a long time ago....probably gone by the end of the 80's. If you speak with some of the older mousekeepers they'll remember. I had a nice talk with a night housekeeper last March (not turn down) and we were talking about the old spreads and how much better they held up since they were so much thicker.

However the picture I have of the green cushions on the chairs was taken in the last year. My son took it and it may have been in June or October in Hawaii or Rapa Nuie last March. I think it was our June trip to Hawaii.

Found another picture of my son's that shows the big cushions on the bed....they're that coral-rust color or whatever. This is the same room with the green chair cushions.

You are right the chairs were green before.

Those photos were great! Made me wish I was there, going to the WL in May...but I think next trip, I might give the Poly another try.
Is it me...or are those TV's the small or what? they don't come near to filling the space allocated for it. Don't remember them being quite so small....is that part of the renovation? Skimpin' on the size of the television?

auntie I think they've been that size at least from the time that they switched from dressers to armoires which was many years ago. We've always been able to fit about the same amount of "stuff" on the sides of the TV. :D
