I know that there are two main pools at the Polynesian. The volcano pool and the quiet pool. Is there a separate kiddie pool?? Thanks.

No there isn't. The volcanoe pool is pretty shallow through-out. I think I've seen where it's pretty much three feet, four in a few spots. However, it is a zero-entry pool which means that you walk in like you do the beach.

The quiet pool just has steps down into it.

There is also an area to the side of the volcano pool with some shooting water for the kids to play in.

You'll find some really good pictures of the pools and, I believe, the water play area at:

I just have a quick question here, I hope you don't mind if I just post it here. How deep is the area where the slide dumps you? Thanks so much.

The quiet pool is about 3' deep in the shallow end but goes to about 7 or 8 feet deep in the deep end. The deep end is marked with a floating rope. There are no lifeguards at the quiet pool however. The volcano pool is about 4.5' deep where the slide lets out.

GF - the pool looks decent - nice water slide - open through rock, water fall, and seating availabilty does not look bad.

Rooms have the daybed - a must for our family.

If I could snag an AP rate for a STANDARD ROOM - how good/bad is the view ?

From the map of the GF - it looks like most rooms are of water, pool, or beach.
Would a Standard room be a view of the Monorail ?

Do all rooms in the GF have a balcony ?

We have a BC ressie now - but maybe being on the monorail would be a plus.

The CR pool does not look exciting. The Poly pool looks good - but my DS & DD do not like pool slides which get dark inside - ie Volcano/red lights pool slide at the Poly. That leaves us with the GF.
My DH does like the GF staircase and 1900 Park Faire for dinner.
But we never stayed at the GF.

What are your thoughts ?
Thanks from the Pooh Crew

just a note....the volcanao pool can get quite busy and crowded in the afternoon. We got the girls lifejackets from the place next to the volcano pool (free to borrow) and they loved using them in the "deep" quiet pool where it wasn't as busy and they could swim where ever they wanted....

The volcano pool gets very crowded and the lifeguard sits right where you exit the slide. For the adults it is also where the jetted area is but I think it's a bad location because it's where the kids come off the slide and you get splashed alot and it's very small. I had also wished they built a separate jacuzzi/hot tub area as the other resorts have.
