Polynesian Pool

Hello, all,

We'll be making our first trip to Disneyworld next month. We will be staying at the Polynesian and my kids are counting the days until they are out of the Seattle rain. Bring on the pool! We are wondering if little pool toys are allowed? Floating tubes or anything? I see that the Poly has life jackets to borrow. Has anyone ever used these? Do you get really wet on the Volcano slide? What else can they dream about regarding the pool until the day comes?

Saw lots of kids with floaties on their arms. Saw a few rings for little ones. Saw kids tossing water balls a bit. Reasonable stuff is allowed. I think if you show up in your double wide adult sized flotation cruise ship with igloo holder then they may not go for that. The operative word is reasonable. LoL.

The life jackets come in a few sizes. They are in great shape.

You will get wet on the slide; it has a stream of water running down it and it empties into the pool. You will get wet!

There is a little play area too that shoots water into the air. My kids loved that but it can be a little slippery too so be warned.

By the beach there is a tikishower that my kids also loved for some reason. You pull the chain and get drenched. Oh how they loved that, for some reason. Such a simple thing.

Zero entry by the beach is great.

You can also watch both the water parade and fireworks from many area's of the pool. It's a wonderful way to end the day! The pool slide is fabulous and my dd loves it! They had life guards during the day also who would get basketball games going in the pool. She had a fabulous time!

We haven't stayed at the Poly, but did stay at a different Deluxe last summer...the Beach Club. There was a poolside gift shop there that sold 4 different types of Super Soakers & rented tubes by the hour/day. I couldn't believe it about the Super Soakers. I had to buy 2 there on our 1st day...one for DS9, the other for DH. If I'd known, I'd have brought some from home, as we had 2 brand new, unopened ones in our garage!

We always bring our own 36inch tubes from Target & have used them at the following pools:
CBR
BCV
SSR

Never had any problems at any of them.
