Polynesian LVC Room Question

I am so excited. We just received our Itinerary Planner from Island Planning and I can't believe we are actually going in September. It was supposed to be YEARS before our next visit!

After much consideration I decided to book LVC. Last year we booked GVC for our 20th anniversary and really hoped for an upgrade but it wasn't in the stars for us. I have requested a non-smoking room on the 3rd floor (we have always stayed on the 1st floor but I would like to try something different). To all of the experts out there which rooms in Hawaii have you stayed in that offer an absolutely fabulous view of the castle and allow you to watch the EWP from your balcony? I know I can't request a specific room but thought if I had a couple in mind I could make my own magic happen this trip.

We plan to surprise the kids about a week before we leave. Due to school construction we have a 14 week break this summer so we will all need a vacation near the end of this time!

May I suggest the first 6 rooms, LV side....3501-6.
I think there is one, 3508 that has a tree that blocks the castle.

Someone else know this one?

3503 may be blocked since the third floor is right in line with the largest part of the palm trees and there are two just outside the room. I know 3505 is a great clear view and I believe 3504 is good as well as 3506 but 3507 and 3508 again are blocked. 3509 and 3510 are good but I think 3511 was blocked. From 3511 on down to 3518 you are clear on the 3rd floor.

Requesting a specific room is not going to make much difference. They may be able to give you the floor you want but a specific room is much more difficult and I would not count on it.

Well I just found this in my notes and it looks a little different than what I wrote above. Since I have not been in every 3rd floor room to see the view I am going by what I saw from the outside. Here were my notes:

There is a photo of 3505 and it is a great view. You do have to watch out for the rooms behind the tree tops. I am only going by the photos I took and looking where the trees are since I have never been in all the 3rd floor rooms but here is a shot at a list.

3501 looks clear
3502 looks clear
3503 tree tops
3504 tree tops
3505 We know is clear
3506 looks clear with a tree to the right but not blocking
3507 tree top
3508 tree top
3509 clear
3510 looks clear with a tree to the right but not blocking
3511 tree top
3512 hard to tell but maybe clear
3513-3518 look clear

Tikiman - Thanks so much for the information.

I don't plan on requesting a specific room, I know that is too much to ask. I only wanted as much info as possible in case I am given a choice. Last year we stayed GVC but at the very far end of the building. It was hard dragging 3 tired kids up to the lounge for a snack so I thought I might request a room close to the lounge. This will probably be our only time staying LVC since the kids are getting bigger and two rooms at a moderate with two bathrooms are in our future.

Your site has been a wonderful help in the planning of our last two trips.

I think it is a great idea to get an idea of what room is where so if they give you a choice you will know where to go. Have a great trip.
