Polynesian for Week after Christmas

We are in the early stages of planning for a vacation at the Polynesian the week after Christmas. It will be me, my DW, and our almost 4yo DD. It's her first trip to Disney World and our first trip as a family. I have a few questions that I'm hoping you more knowledgeable folks can answer.

We are thinking about staying on the Club Level. I thought Garden Level rooms might be quieter (good for a kid who goes to bed pretty early), but the thought of being able to watch the fireworks from our room after she goes to sleep *is* pretty appealing. Thoughts on Garden vs. Lagoon vs. Theme Park view? I see that the second floor of Hawaii where the club level is doesn't have balconies. Is there some way to say *not there*?

I was planning on booking through AAA, in order to get the room discount, but then I saw online that there are no AAA room discounts at the moment. Is that true? If so, I'll just go ahead and book something through Disney.

Thanks in advance for any and all advice. I'm sure I will have lots of questions in the coming months as we plan. So excited!

Disney has phased out/is phasing out its relationship with AAA so I don't think there will be any discounts through them at all.

I think all theme park views are now on the 3rd floor. Lagoon on the 2nd mostly. Check Tikiman's Polynesian site (Google) and you can get more details on that. The views from many of the lagoon side rooms have now been blocked or partially blocked by the bungalows that were constructed so it's different than it was the last time I stayed there.

I love the Poly CL, but be prepared for sticker shock if you haven't seen the prices (maybe you have). It's the most expensive time of the year.

I would not consider the garden side necessarily quieter...the pool is right there. If it's open you will have pool noise, if it's closed you will have construction news. I love the lagoon side ( but that wa pre bungalows)

The gv side is quiet. However, you would be overlooking pool construction. You can request 3rd floor (balcony) or 1st floor (patio ) to avoid the no balcony. Both floors have easy access to the lounge, as there is an open stairway. Elevator, too, of course. The fireworks are easily viewed from the lounge, if you and your DW are willing to take turns. Hopefully, you will see some room only discounts from Disney released in the fall. I don't know if CL will be included that week, though! Check Orbitz threads, too, for how to stack discounts. We will be at the Poly for Christmas with our 3 year old, too! (Not CL this time, though!) happy planning!

Thanks, guys, this is all really helpful. I haven't been to Disney in over a decade and I've never stayed at the Polynesian, so I'm super excited. (Maybe more so than my kid since I know what fun it can be!)
