Polynesian FAQ Thread??

Nothing you posted offended me in any way.

I was not being sarcastic when I made the statement about making a FAQ for the Polynesian. I truly believe there are plenty of people here that have as much if not more knowledge about the resort as I do.

Whew....thats great Steve, I'm glad your still with us.

I knew you were'nt being sarcastic. I have read the faq's here and on the tech board and I just cant figure out how to posty any of the pictures I have of the polynesian Resort and grounds.
Do I have to ask permission from other websites (Disney, Allears , Intercot, mouseplanet,you) to use Polynesian photos (room layouts, resort map, etc) if and when I or anyone else starts this Polynesian FAQ's thread(page).

I too love Steve's site and refer to it frequently.

I would love to have a Poly board here on the Disboards for dialog/discussion because the Echo forum is always EXTREMELY slow, and I would think far fewer people frequent those boards (and it probably does have a slightly pro-Polynesian feel to it LOL) ...


For reference information and pictures, Steves site cant be beat.

Before you start posting any information gathered from other internet sites you will have to get permission from that site. I doubt other sites will allow you to use their material on the DIS. There should be some Poly fans that could help supply the information and photos for the Poly FAQ.

Tikiman, I am sorry to hear that some inconsiderate Dis'ers ruined it for you. You have provided a valuable service for many people.

No reason why it can't happen. I started the CBR thread because I love staying there and shared the information with the DIS. Surely there are Poly lovers that could contribute the this thread.

Can't we just have a FAQ on Poly without the "formal" way? I mean just start it with questions.. then someone answers...then so forth. Just like all the FAQ except that there will not be "infos laid out" just bunches of questions and answers? I hope I am making some sense here.

I feel bad for the OP, I don't think he wanted to cause any trouble. I could be dead wrong but these Poly threads can get very ugly sometimes. I don't recall any resort that gets folks so upset! What is this all about anyway? This is crazy!

I hope your reading this Tikiman: I think you're totally cool and I completely enjoy and browse your website often. I respect your opinion when you post on the disboard. I can understand why a handful of posters have upset you . There are many, many more who feel as I do! Please don't leave us hangin' .

Fantasia has a good idea . We can also start posting our pictures on the thread. I want a DIS FAQ. Is it possible to link Tikiman's site on the thread?

I'm going in July and will return with plenty of pictures!

Well why don't we start one? There are plenty of us here that consider the Poly to be our second home. I have lots of pics but don't know how to post them. Why don't at least start a thread titled "Poly FAQ thread? Then we can all post to it and maybe I can figure out how to put up pics? Here we go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just came back from the Poly and I thought Steve's site was helpful. I have nothing bad to say since it was all wonderful. So if you have any questions I will be happy to answer the. But I do not know enough to start a FAQ thread since this was only my 1st time there. But certainly not last!

It would work better if you hosted the pictures on a website or photo sharing site instead of directly posting them in the thread. Those people still using dial up will appreciate that.

Thumpersfriend, I agree with you. Those Poly threads can get quite ugly and defensive at times. I don't understand it either. The Polynesian is my favorite resort. I'd love for other people to enjoy it as much as me, but if they don't, they don't. If they have bad experiences there or anywhere else, it's unfortunate and I feel for them. If they decide not to return, that's absolutely okay. It's even a plus for me. One less room being booked increases my odds of getting a room when I want to go!

FYI ~ For those of you that have recommended Tikiman's website it is gone. When you go to the site it has a black background and says, "Tikiman has retired. Aloha."
