Figured I would start a new thread to not mess up the actual Poly Tower thread.

Anyone see any posting/video/pictures/live stream about it yet? I know there were a couple tours days ago but today is the real day and even though I dont own here its fun to follow along a new resort opening.

I'm curious to hear observations about crowding. Is the main pool overcrowded? Monorail station? The Boat? Buses? Restaurants? Lobby? Fireworks Views? You get the idea.

Opening day may not be a representative sample, as I imagine half the guests today are vloggers. But once normal guests start taking over, I really want to hear if the existing infrastructure can withstand the tower's additional population.

The pool is open to everyone though so you still have a large group of normal people on the resort just not in the Tower itself.

I'm curious how long a walk from the tower is to the poly feature lava pool with slide.

So just to clarify if you’re staying anywhere poly whether tower, original dvc, or cash rooms you can use either pool at the tower or original poly? I was interested in this few weeks ago when booking a poly June trip but couldn’t find a clear answer.

Yes, all 3 poly pools are available for anyone staying at Poly whether old rooms or new rooms, DVC or cash.

So what’s standard then? This looks like the worst.
I know, right? I really hadn't realized until now just what Disney did with the views at this resort. Inflating those points with BS!

I would guess standard is lower levels. This appears to be fairly high up. I would be so annoyed to see this as my “preferred” view for now though. Maybe in a couple years once everything is filled in?

When you compare this to a standard longhouse view…yikes. At least those generally feel immersed in the theming.

There is so much content on YouTube on the DVC Fan Channel. @pkrieger2287 and team are working so hard! Definitely go give them some views and subs if you haven’t already.

The tower looks beautiful (but very modern) - I am excited to stay there once, but living in SoCal, I think I will prefer another theme when staying at WDW. Aulani is so close to us that we can get the real thing fairly easily. Those views across Seven Seas Lagoon are gorgeous, though!

Thank you! 🥰

None of the pools are part of the PVB association. They belong to the hotel side of things.

PVB owners have RTU them as part of being located at the resort. So, all guests get to use all of them!!

The Island Tower's "quiet" pool looks pretty lame, but I guess that's the intent of a quiet pool. The splash pad looks like it will be popular though (for a niche segment of guests).

My concern is that both the Island Tower guests and the Polynesian guests will both descend on the main pool. If the Island tower has 1000 guests on a given day, and 10% of them want to do a pool day, that's going to be 100 additional people at the existing pool (maybe a couple dozen of them will use the new pool/splash pad instead).

Hopefully, though, some of the guests who hang st the main pool now will choose to head over to Island tower pool…so it could end up have some level of a balancing effect?

But it definitely changes the number of guests at an already crowded resort.
