Was thinking we will stop at Trader Sams before our 8pm dinner at 1900 Park Fare.
What is the best way to get from Poly to GF and how long should I allow for this?

You could take the resort monorail over, it goes from Poly to GF to MK to CR to TTC. So from Poly, GF would be your next stop. This would take a minute or two at most, travel time. Or you could easily walk over, we always make the walk in 10 minutes or less. The boat from Poly also makes a triangle, it'll go to MK, then to GF, then back to Poly. That would take the longest to do, given how long it takes to dock and let off/let on boat passengers each stop. I'd say it would be at least 30-40 minutes that way. It really just depends on what sort of transportation you're looking for and how long you mind the trip taking.

The walk from Poly to GF is reasonably short and very enjoyable as long as the weather is acceptable.

And the nice thing about the walk is you get to see the Wedding Pavilion. And the views of the area are quite good so take a camera and be prepared. A shot of the Wedding Pavilion with Cinderella's Castle in the background, um, yeah, quite good. A shot of the Magic Kingdom ferry boat heading to the TTC with the Polynesian in the foreground? Yep, quite good.

I would be more concerned about getting in and out of Trader Sam's in time. Wait times are reportedly extremely high unless you sit on the patio.

Walk isn't bad at all and I made it in the killer heat of August.

We took the monorail...we were with my aunt had a double knee replacement earlier in the year so we saved walking where we could

Hoping by November in the afternoon/early evening it has died off a bit...

WE would just walk. By the time you go to the monorail, wait a few minutes and ride it over (maybe one minute) you are almost up to the few minutes it takes to walk. Either way allowing 10 minutes should be fine. As PP said you can also take the boat, but that would be significantly longer.

ROBO, I LOVE your maps!!!!!

We took the monorail several times between Poly and GF for dinner reservations and it was quick and easy. We might have considered walking but there were 10 in our group, including 4 kids and it was dark in December in the evenings so we opted for the monorail.
