i suspect there will "probably" be a poly DVC, but the guide does kinda have a point...

(edited to add: i think there is certainty with regard to disney's "intentions" but there is always the possibility of things not panning out. or disney deciding that they can milk more cash out of the poly refurb with cash rooms than timeshares.)
Honestly, I don't know how long they can keep this up. As I mentioned on a prior thread, there is a limited number of people who will want to buy DVC and they eventually have to saturate that market, don't they?![]()
I don't get playgrounds in Florida.tell that to Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, Wyndham and several others.
timeshares are a great investment - first they get what they spend immediately - second the building upkeep and maintenance is charged to the members.
a regular hotel takes what 5 to 20 years to pay off - and Disney has to kept update on everything all the time.
expect the DVC Polyn to help the regular Polyn - by providing what the Polyn lacks - hot tub, playground, gym.
really though that BLT would have a playground - considering the amount of little ones that visit. but they seem to be more into adults - the lounge rather than a playground.
My vote is for a lodge out west (Aspen or the like) w/ skiing/ mountains!

They always seem to be hot, miserable places unless its too cool to swim.
One thing that could forestall a DVC at the Poly would be push-back from the Poly faithful.
There is a significant number of Polynesian Resort guests that have been returning every year since they were little. These guests are a better revenue stream, long term, for Disney than DVC, since WDW gets not only park and restaurant visits but also room rate.
if the guests staying at BC could not stop BCV - then would say that guests staying at Polyn won't be able to stop Polyn DVC.
Disney will do what is best for Disney - remember it is a corporation - and RIGHT now - the best thing seems to be DVC.

In addition, the outcry from non-DVC guests to keep one deluxe resort DVC-free may also be taken into consideration by WDW management. While technically the Yacht Club is a separate hotel, those guests are impacted by BCV, thus many do not see it as a non-DVC resort.
In the end, we shall see, but there is a significant voice of dissent against a DVC arm of the Poly resort, so this project is not a certainty.
I have thought about this quite a bit and wonder if the Poly will really be next. In the next couple of years, VGF and AKV should sell out. Say the Poly is next. It will likely sell "crazy" fast based on the comments that many Disboarders will buy once it is available. Obviously, it will be a pretty easy sell to non-owners who want to buy into DVC as well. If that is the case, DVC won't have anything in the pipeline. Their model seems to be "build, baby, build" so I would think another slower-selling location not attached to a current deluxe (YC is all that's left anyway) to keep sales going awhile would be next.
