Hey Guys,

Which building at the Poly do you prefer? We have a garden view booked. I like Tahiti for its proximity to the TTC, but then I worry about it being too far from everything else. I also like that it is one of the most recently built longhouses with 2 sinks. I hear it also has a nice beach area and a lovely view (if you're upgraded to lagoon).

On the flip side, I've read that Tokelau is centrally located and has great views for garden view. I've seen the resort map, but I have no idea what the scale is, so I can't figure out how far apart everything is, though Tikiman's site says nothing is really more than 5 minutes apart.

Which building do you Poly-pros prefer? :confused3 Thanks for the advice!
P.S. I'm confused about the express monorail at the TTC. Is it quicker ride on the express to the MK than on the lobby, resort monorail? That could influence my decision also. Thanks again!

The only thign I have to answer is the monorail question at TTC. While the express monorail appears to be faster, since it is "express", I wouldn't be fooled. I would ride through the TTC on the resort monorail, and just start laughing. The lines for the express monorail would be back to the entrance sign, on some days! All the waiting time definitely adds up, so I would stick with the resort monorail, personally. However, I've only gone in summer, so it depends on when you're going.

Hi,

We just returned from staying at Tokelau July 9 through 17. Tikiman's right in that no building is more than about a 5 minute walk to the GCH. Tahiti is a bit further than Tokelau, say about another minute or maybe two, but again, not far.

We liked Tokelau a lot for all the reasons noted above. I'd say for location, Tokelau is slightly better just for proximity to the pools and GCH. Both are close to equal to the TTC. For two sinks, Tahiti would be nicer, and you do have the possibility of that nice lagoon view (though you probably would not get one unless you paid for it of course).

Decide what's most important to you and then remember that the Polynesian is a lovely resort and enjoy your trip.

I also would just do the resort monorail most of the time. The express from the TTC does most often have a crowd, and on EMH mornings at MK, they don't allow people to board that line at the TTC until just before the park opens for the general public.

Tahiti is much more "secluded". We prefered that. You have your own "private" beach right behind you! We had a MK view, but the garden views would all be great too. Have a great time!

I agree with the above poster that the Tahiti building is more secluded. We had the MK view, and looking out, we felt as if it was just us and the MK. You certainly wouldn't feel that way in a garden view room IMO. However, if you want to be closer to the GCH, I recommend Tokelau. I really wish that Tahiti was closer to the GCH because the walks were somewhat long. :)

Don't forget that the boat from the Poly is a great way to get to the MK.

You are the best! It's amazing how I get more info here than the guide books:goodvibes

I appreciate learning about the express monorail. I was thinking I could hope for Tahiti (nothing is guaranteed of course) and zip on that express and be at the MK in no time flat. Now, I'm thinking I'll request Tokelau so I can grab a coffee at the coffee bar and take the resort monorail. I also like the idea of being nearer to the pool. (hopefully we won't be sardines in Sept.)

Thanks again!
