Poly Studio Pics

There are two nightstands in the Poly studio, plus the queen versus the double at VGF couch that could affect the space in the room.

I really like them! I imagine that having that split bathroom is where much of the extra square footage is going. The actual sleeping room doesn't look much larger than the other studios to me.

Yeah, they can't duplicate the natural light that will be found in the actual studios. Imagine a Poly room with these furnishings, and you'll get a good idea of what they'll ultimately look and feel like. I love the split bathrooms and mid-century modern furnishings. Looks like a winner to me!

Would it have killed them to add a 2nd potty to the split bathroom? I'd take a shared sink area and two potties vs 1.

I like how it looks and BRAVO :yay: for TWO nightstands!! That's about time!! I like the decor but I doubt my nearly 6' DS could fit on that pull-down bed tho and the kitchenette looks like an afterthought!! Since we only use studios I love the larger kitchenettes like at VWL and BLT that actually provide some countertop area. This looks like there's barely enough room to pull out the toaster to make some bagels.:sad2: I'm sure we'll probably try to stay there NEXT year tho to try it out if we can get in.

Did anyone notice where the storage space/drawers are? Does the ottoman double as storage? I agree that it seems the same size as the others.i thought it was going to be much bigger. Very nice thou! Could definetely use some hooks/small shelf when you walk in. Gosh where do the clothes go?

I like it, and would like to stay there. I like the looks of the studio at VGF better, but staying at the Poly will make it easier to have breakfast and the Kona coffee at the Kona Cafe!

Looking forward to trying to book a stay there. With connecting studios, I would definitely book a gals getaway with 4 of us there if I can at 7 months!

In post 4 of this thread Docmom, who took a tour of the model room, states that there is a drawer under the bed and that there is some storage space in the ottoman.

Storage in an ottoman is just silly. You may as well live out of your suitcase. They really should learn to build some shelving into the closets that could be used for clothing if they're not going to put in furniture with drawers. Maybe the nightstands have some storage space? :confused3 We have been known to hijack those for smaller items…. We use packing cubes and it is nice to have drawers to put them in so we can stash away the suitcases & duffles. It appears that we will have to walk around the suitcases tho here if there is no place to unpack them.

Then where is all the additional storage space that they are touting? Looking at the video I thought there might be more cubbies in the bathrooms but that doesn't really seem like that big of improvement. :confused3

See that open space under the bottom of the bed.....according to Ken Potrock that is the space they made for luggage storage because of "member feedback".

Yuck....any seasoned traveler will tell you under the bed is the last place you want to store your luggage. I have dressers at home to store my clothes. DVC is become less and less a home away from home. It is getting to the point that I cringe when someone greets me with "Welcome Home".

Under the bed is not convenient to store your luggage if you're still living out of it bcuz there is no place to store your clothes. It's fine if it's EMPTY….

My youngest wants us to buy here but i'm not sure. I keep looking at the resale sites and those look much better. It really all depends on if hubby promotes.

It's pretty. I like the colors. Two nightstands are nice.

But I have to say I am not at all pleased that all the bedding in all the DVC resorts is going to the two white sheets with a little runner across the bottom. We had that arrangement on our bed for our December stay at SSR and I froze all night every night. And the little runner thing kept sliding off onto the floor all the time, and trying to pull up the two sheets with the little blanket between was just awkward, and the whole experience was frustrating and not very "luxurious" at all. I hope the next round of refurbs will get rid of that arrangement all together.

If there aren't extra blankets in the unit, just call housekeeping for extras.
