Is there a dressing room/shower area by the pool (or anywhere else in the common areas?) The reason I ask is it looks like we're taking a redeye and will arrive around 7am. I'm thinking after sleeping all night on the plane it would be lovely to have somewhere to freshen up before breakfast! Otherwise I'm afraid I'll look like this:

We stayed at the Poly a couple years ago, but never used the restrooms or dressing area at the pool, so I'm not sure what those facilities are like. If anybody could describe it to me that would sure be helpful. Thanks!

Yes, behind the waterfalls in the pool area there are showers/lockers. The bathrooms in the GCH are nice, but no showers.

May I add that you need your room key to access the locker rooms?

If we check in, but don't have a room ready yet, they still give you your room card, don't they, and just add your room code later when the room's ready? So we should still be able to access the locker room, right?

When you check in and your room is not ready ... we found out that they already have your "key to the world" code on your card ... how else could you get in? The only thing you don't know is what room it works for !!! If that is what they still do, then your card should work for the lockers. When you call that # and they tell your room is ready .. all they do is tell you the room #. Hope this helps!

We go to the Poly every year and have never had to use our room key to get into the bathrooms under the "volcano". One important tip if you are going to use those restrooms as a "freshening up" location: make sure you have proper footwear with you i.e.: the floor is always soaked from people trapesing in barefoot (understandable as it is a pool bathroom). The changing rooms are very dark and dank, with the floor always covered in water! For some reason the lighting always seems to be extremely dim but maybe that's because of coming out of the extremely bright and hot August Florida sunlight!
