Poly Or Beach Club????????

I like them both but with the age of you child---The Poly!
You can see the fireworks from the beach if your child was like mine and thinks they are "too loud."

I would definitely recommend Poly. You said your sis is a first time visitor with a 3 year old - tell her to imagine standing on the Poly's beach in the evenings watching the fireworks over MK! The three year old will also love the water parade in the evenings. DH had to take our daughter out for the fireworks and parade every evening.

We love them both and have stayed at both resort many times. But with the makeup of your traveling group; I am with all the rest and say without a doubt.......Poly!!!

Have stayed at BC and are about to stay at the Poly...but nevertheless, I vote Poly for proximity to MK!

Have stayed at both and love the Poly. Yes it's old but to me it's the ultimate Disney Resort (I have stayed at the Grand Floridian, and I didn't like it) I remember when I first went to Disney in the 70's and dreamed of the day I would be able to stay at the Polynesian. Been there, done that, going back!

Thanks all for your opinions-
She has decided to stay with her orig decision- POLY!!

As much as I disagree, I have never actually stayed at POLY- I am a BC fan! Maybe I will try POLY-

I vote for the Polynesian, but BC is a close second (out of all WDW resorts). I think the BC pool is actually better for a 3yo. One of the areas at Stormalong Bay is designed especially for small children and their parents. It is quite shallow (don't think it's anywhere deeper than 2 ft), very warm, has a sand bottom, and a BIG sandpile in the middle that children love to play on -- great for sandcastles too!

I vote Poly! It was the first WDW resort we ever stayed at, and my older son was 2; my mother and I went to Epcot for a late night, and my grandmother stayed back at the hotel with my son. All of a sudden they heard music and saw blinking lights out past the balcony - it was the Electric Water Parade floating right past our room! We didn't even know they had such a thing! Needless to say, my son and grandmother were delighted, and watched it every night together. We're going back in July to the Poly - my son is now 18 and just graduated high school; soon he'll be off to college, and we are all (including my grandmother, now 86) looking so forward to returning to that wonderful place. Maybe that's just nostalgia talking, but the Poly really does seem magical to us all.

Hope
