We are planning a trip for October and cannot decide between the Beach Club or the Polynesian. We stayed at the Beach Club last September and LOVED it, especially being able to walk into Epcot, but I have always wanted to try the Polynesian. Just wondering what people think who have stayed at both.

Thanks!

I stayed at the Beach Club this last trip and doing the Poly in August.... I love the Beach Club but figured I did that one, now to try something new that I know I possibly couldn't afford again lol

We just had the same decision to make this past week! We are going in August and couldn't decide between the two. But we have stayed at both before. I would stay at the Polynesian if I were you, it really is my favorite...especially if you haven't tried it. You can't beat how close it is to everything and being able to take the monorail, plus the relaxing atmosphere, fireworks from the beach... etc etc, just so many perks! We ended up booking Beach club just because we stayed at the Poly most recently and my husband likes Epcot but I'm still a little sad...

Well Im going with BC, Poly was DW and I "dream resort" so we splurged to stay there and man we were disappointed. Now it may not always be that way but when we were there unfriendliest staff of all the resorts we've stayed at. Transportation was fine but really we had great transportation at BC I don't know if it was just luck or what but never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a bus to MK. Plus could walk to Epcot or even HS if you really wanted to but we really took the relaxing boat rides. If you've never stayed I also highly recommend WL.

I also love the BC and really don't love the Poly at all. I hate the separate buildings and the cheesy Polynesian theme. But then I think I am in the minority. :duck: You should probably stay at the Poly and decide for yourself. You can't go wrong with either one. :)

If going for at least a week, I'd do a split stay to get the advantages of both locations.

Exactly what I was going to stay, we are going with 4 nights BC then 4 nights Poly! Best of both worlds...

Both are great resorts. It's always exciting to try new resorts. But know that Poly quiet pool will be closed for construction. Check Poly threads.
There are things I love about Poly, watching wishes and electric water parade from beach. And I'm excited to check out new main pool area, and Trader Sams. And the beautiful tropical grounds. Large rooms, and really no bad views, even with standard view.

Thanks everyone!! I think I'm leaning towards BC. Anyone else have trouble booking at the BC online? Everytime I get to the tickets portion, it says "Tickets Add On is Currently Unavailable." This has been happening for weeks but the BC is the only hotel this happens with. I should just bite the bullet and call but am wondering if anyone else has had trouble.

We've stayed at both and while I thought the BC was nice and I'm glad we tried it, the Poly is our favorite. We not only prefer being in the MK area, but we like the atmosphere and pool more at the Poly. We also like the variety of dining options that are a quick monorail ride away at the GF and CR. With that said, since you've already stayed at the BC, I'd give the Poly a try.

I would go with the Beach Club. I really thought the public spaces and landscaping at the BC were beautiful and the pool is amazing. Also, the walk into Epcot is incredibly convenient as is the access to the Boardwalk. The Poly is OK, but I found the CMs at the Beach Club friendlier and the dining situation is better. The restaurants at the Poly are not so great. At the Beach Club, you can not only dine on the property (the Captain's Grill at YC is worth a visit) but also at any of the restaurants on the Boardwalk or in Epcot. I feel those are better choices than Polynesian food or Polynesian food at the Poly. Transportation from BC to MK is efficient. We did not have to wait very long for buses. While the monorail at the Poly is a nice feature, I think the other positive features of the BC outweigh that one.

I have had the exact same problem for the last week or 2! I figured when the time comes to pull the trigger, I'll just have to call.

Of the 2, the Poly is my favorite. To me the Beach Club has 2 things going for it--proximity to Epcot, and SAB. And that is it. I hate the lack of a decent resort quick service place. And I hate the long bus rides to AK and MK. At the Poly you are only a monorail ride away from Epcot and the Magic Kingdom. Plus, you can kick back at night by the pool and still watch fireworks. One of the best things ever!

I called yesterday it's because the standard view is only available as a room only rate, when you try to add on tickets that's when you get the error. The only view that would let me progress as a package was the lagoon or pool view. Good to know I told them

You will love the BC. BC has so many advantages as previously posted. We have also stayed at the Poly. Enjoyed it, but think the thing we loved the most was the location of the Hawaii building and the MK view from our room and the CL lounge.

Thanks so much for the info. I had been trying for the woods view. It's odd to me that they would EVER sell a room at a room only rate. It should either be available or not. Thanks for ending the mystery!

Wow, I just price checked and it's an extra $1000 for my trip now if I have the different view. Crap. Now I feel like I'm back to square one.

Love, love, love the Epcot resorts. BC is awesome. Walking distance to Epcot and DHS. A nice stroll around the lake is lovely. The boardwalk is fun. The pool is the best on property. Have fun!

Did you check for Yacht Club? It has all the same benefits as the Beach club. We are staying YC this trip, and then our next trip in 2018 will be a Poly (or CR) and AKL split stay.
