My DH and I have Poly Mugs from 1997. Does anyone know if they will still except them for refills? :rolleyes1

If I am not mistaken, you have to purchase a new mug for the length of your stay. At least that was the way it was last summer at POR. Hope that helps!

When we bought our mugs at the Polynesian in 1997, we were told they were only good for the length of that trip at the Polynesian and were not good on return trips.

Why do you want to open up another can or worms here on these boards ? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Very hot topic....all new mugs are being printed...enjoy for the length of your stay....they are not valid from year to year...

I lost my lunch from Cosmic Rays Cafe on Space Mountian back in 2002. Do you think they will give me another lunch for a replacement or will I have to actually use real money to purchase another meal.... :rotfl: :rotfl2:

;) Suuure you can. After that you should take your mug over to YC/BC and go pool hopping. :rotfl:

OMG!! If only that were true...then I could justify buying new ones every time I go. Dh thinks I'm an idiot because I have about 16 of the stupid things. And when we were in WDW in June he saw a lot of people filling up mugs at BC refill spot...they were not BC mugs. He wants to know why I feel that I have to have a new one every single trip!!!! :drinking:

I'm going to open the can....

We have reused our mugs at both the Grand Floridian, Polynesian and WL. And, I am donning my flame suit here, I won't change my ways until a CM comes right out and ENFORCES the policy. I have seen my share of people filling up all sorts of containers with beverages from the fountain. One guy at the Polynesian had a HUGE mug that clearly was not from the Polynesian, or Disney at all for that matter!

So I don't see the harm until they really start cracking down on this. JMHO. Flame away... :teeth:

You are certainly entitled to your opinion and I won't flame you but these threads always make curious about something in someone's nature.

Your last comment especially, you see no harm until they really start cracking down on this. So you only obey rules and laws that are heavily enforced and ignore any others you can get away with?

Again no flame just curious.

No, in fact I pretty much follow ALL the rules. My DH wanted to try and get our 3 year old into the parks without a ticket, but I know Disney keeps tabs on that sort of thing so I bought him a 4 day hopper. But I really feel that the mug issue is over-debated and it really is only a mug...I give Disney plenty of my hard earned $$$. I don't need to spend another $30 on mugs for me and my family UNTIL a CM says, "I'm sorry miss. But our policy is..." I do see your point, but it's not like I'm sharing my annual pass or anything!

Thanks for an honest opinion without emotion. I truly was just curious. As I see it, a rule is a rule, and they are not up for interpretation. The cost does not factor into it. I give my car dealership plenty of money, but I would never take something without paying for it from them.

I guess I feel once Disney posted their policy and put it on the mugs, it truly is not up for second guessing anymore.

They don't have to enforce it, for me to be able to understand the policy, which was my point.

If, when we get to WL in a couple of weeks, the policy is stated very clearly, then I think I will reconsider my stance. Our mugs don't have the policy stamped on them and I don't remember seeing the policy on the new mugs at the Polynesian, but I understand there are transition periods and it can take some time. So I'll see what's going on when I get there.

The trap was set...and he pounces...like a kid in a candy store.

Noble cause though, research into human nature.

Scanne and I were having an adult conversation about this without any flaming or name calling.

As to pouncing I would think one who stays away completely from a forum for long periods of time, only to show up on certain threads or when certain people respond, would certainly be considering, lying in wait, to pounce. :flower:

As a marketing major, I am always interested in what makes the public see things in different lights.
