We have ressies for the 5:15 show at the Poly Luau. I read somewhere that the effects are better at the 8pm show when it is dark? Is that true?

We want to see the MK fireworks that night which are at 10pm. Would it be possible to go to the show and still have time to catch the fireworks from the poly beach?

Thank you!!!!

Other experiences may vary, but for our one time visit to Spirit of Aloha at the 8pm show we ended at about 10:05 and got out of the luau cove by 10:08-10:09 to see the very end of Wishes. It was kind of a disappointment to me as I wanted to see Wishes from the beach right after the show was over. However, I did think that the effects were really cool, especially the fire, at dark. I don't know, though, whether it was worth missing Wishes or if the earlier show detracts from the effects. One more thing to contemplate is the time of year you are going. If it is going to be really hot, I would definitely go to the later show and see Wishes on a different evening.

LiveToTravelNicel: Thank you for your response! We are going in April so it shouldn't be too hot :confused3 I think we will just stick with our original plan and attend the 5pm show. Your input was much appreciated :goodvibes

We did the 5:15 show and I think I have a few pics in one of my TR. The fire dancer is the end of the show, so it gets a little darker. But, the first part with all the other dancers was great to see. I can't compare it to a night show, but we had a great time and great food.

Lulu, you are very welcome! As PP just stated, you are going to have a great time. April probably won't be a problem with heat. We went on July 20, so the heat was more of an issue. Since you want to see Wishes, I'd go with your original plan, too. Have you been to the Poly before? If not, you'll probably enjoy exploring the Ceremonial House and the Sunset Point in between the Spirit of Aloha and Wishes. Sunset Point can provide some excellent pictures of the Monorail Resorts. Although, the GF construction hadn't started when we were there, so that may be something you'll have to work around. Anyway, have a great time!!!! :thumbsup2
