WDWBetsy~Incidentally...it was on the bed when we exited the room, therefore---presumably folded and carried away in the linens. This was the reasoning of the security officers. (Inadvertantly lost=not planned).

I asked myself this a thousand times...as I'm always very conscientious of my personal effects. It was not a "purse" (as I've actually witnessed others leave), but sunglasses. Since there was no one in the store at the time this occurred (other than the associates), I presumed they would be there upon my return. We were only gone a few minutes, but we all know this is sufficient time for a person to steal a "child" (let alone a pair of sunglasses). Just silly human error all the way around...and everyone makes these from time to time.
TigrLvsPooh~I definitely agree...time is of the essence (and utmost importance) when reporting any problem.

PrincessofQuiteAlot~Terrible!

Thankfully an HONEST guest turned it in. Yet, the lack of consideration on the part of the resort manager should have been reported to corporate.
*While retrieving my rented suv from valet on my last visit to WDW, I began to drive away when I noticed there was a really nice compact CELL PHONE and a money clip FILLED with cash tucked in the little open compartment under the dash/console area!? I was temporarily confused by the objects, and wondered what they were doing in MY car?!? Simultaneously, I realized it was NOT my car, and flipped a U-Turn to immediately alert Valet. The young man whom amended the problem was so frazzled/freaked-out, and explained he would have been in "really big trouble" had I not returned, and/or also left the items in the vehicle.

I would never even "consider"
touching any of the items, as they did not belong to me, and the entire thing was an honest error made by another human being (same make vehicles, brought in at same time, keys mixed up, etc). These things do happen. It's always a relief when "honest" people involved.
