We booked our Poly visit in Sept sometime back in May. Shortly after we booked we got our itinerary planner and just this morning I got a call welcoming us and asking if we needed anything!! Now that's good customer service and why we keep coming back to Disney and especially the Poly!

I'm very happy to hear you've gotten such good service from the IPO at the Poly. My trip is in July and I've had a hard time getting in touch with them. When I call and leave a message or when I send an e-mail it has taken them as long as a week and a half to get back to me. When your trip is less than three weeks away this isn't acceptable. They were always friendly when I did talk to them but getting them was another matter. I finally had Amy over at YC do all my planning even during the time that I'll be at the Poly. It was just easier and she is great!! I'm hoping that they are just really busy and it's not an indication of how my visit at the Poly will be. Glad you're starting off to a good start.::yes::

Hi
You are so right, we made res. in April for LVC and I got a phone call the other day too, they are really nice and I was able to send my PS through e-mail for them to take care of for me:earsgirl: we have stayed at the Poly three other times but never lvc so this is all new to me but wonderful!

Hey Princesslondon, we will be at Poly Concierge the same time as you!

Sorry to sound stupid, but what all do you get conceirge?

What kind of itinerary do you get?

Since I'm planning so far ahead, I might put that in the budget for our next trip. I'll be back to work by then and would definately be able to afford it....

YCFAN - sorry to hear about your problems. My Sis-in-law and family went around Memorial Day and she had the same problems, but we just assumed it was b/c she booked so close to her travel date. Hope everything works out on your trip and you have Fun.

treehugger - We can't wait. We went to the Poly last year at this exact time and it was great. Hardly any crowds and with a almost 4-year old it was wonderful.

etwinchester- you get a lot of stuff when it comes to concierge (of course this is my opinion) but you should check out tikiman's website. Its' the whole reason we stayed here last year. I'm not sure of the website but I'm sure someone will be around to let you know.

Hi Princesslondon! We booked in April for July. I'm not letting it "kill" the concierge mood:tongue: if you know what I mean. I'm looking forward to the trip and returning to Poly. We'll just be missing Tikiman by a couple of weeks. He returns at the end of July.

DITTO!!!! Love the Polynesian and have nothing but wonderful things to say about concierge. Got my phone call the other day and had a wonderful conversation with Marilyn. See you in September!

etwinchester in a nutshell, you get to feel like someone else is taking care of everything for you. As I am the "caretaker" in my family, having the concierge staff to handle everything is the best part of my vacation. Plus there's the lounge, the food, the great location....

YCFAN - I know what you mean; I have had mixed experiences with the Poly IPO. The CMs switch between IPO and the concierge desk at the Poly, so it depends on who is where. There is one CM in particular who really should not be working there, as she gets overwhelmed very easily and has dropped the ball on us on several occasions. I usually try to speak with/e-mail Melissa, Marilyn or Kathy, who are all terrific. I have heard great things about Amy at YC too.

I love the Poly Concierge. I had the same wonderful experience and anytime I called or e-mailed I got a response within a couple of hours at the latest.

Marilyn is the absolute best :hyper: , she gets the medal for everything she did for us and especially for our DDs.

We will be at the poly on sept. 17th, looks like we will all be there at the same point:earsgirl:
We love going in Sept. it's also the only time DH can leave work to get away, the only downside is the parks close earlier.

YCFAN,

Sorry we will miss you by a few weeks. Around that time you had problems they were hit by quite a few people being out sick and some staff moving around. Melissa was telling me how crazy it was around there and they were behind on getting back to everyone. This is very unlike the Island Planning Office. They basically had to take each call or email by who was arriving first and go through one by one. At one point only one person was doing this and the Polynesian IPO handles calls, PS and emails for the Wilderness Lodge also because the Wilderness lodge does not have a full concierge. I am sure this is why there was such a delay.

Have a great trip.

Aloha

Steve

Tikiman: I'm sure the trip will be wonderful. I've stayed at the Poly before and loved it although it has been a while. Everyone has there off times. I know, I'm an office manager. I know it will be great and I can't wait to relax for a while. That was what I loved about it so much before. The calm, relaxing feel of the resort. Hoping to see a lot of lime green also!!
