Dh and I cannot decide on a resort for our first Disney trip. DH wants BC, I think POLY would be better with the monorail vs buses. This will be an early sept 2013 trip. Anyway, were considering a split stay, 4-5 days at each. My questions, can we do a package for the first stay, stay say 5 days but get a 7 day park pass and dining plan. Then move to the other resort, use the rest of our park ticket, and pay for dining out of pocket from that point on?

If it makes any difference it'll be two adults and 3 kids (2,4, and 6). Thanks!

yes you can move your tickets with you to the other resort.

you can't move your dinning plan. So the dinning plan stops at the first resort.

Thanks! Is there anything special I'd have to do with the tickets. I found something last night that made it seem like I'd have to turn in the kttr card after the first resort and get hard copy tickets? Maybe it was old info though...

Nothing needs to be done with your tickets.....you will still use the first KTTW card for entering the parks :). The CM at the 2nd resort might be able to put the remaining park tickets on your new KTTW, but I'm not 100% certain about that as we've never done it. But if not, you would just use your old KTTW card as your tickets are good for 14 days from first use (unless the no expire option is purchased) ;). Have a great trip. The Poly is our favorite resort, but we also loved our stay at the BC. Splitting between a MK resort and Epcot resort is the best of both worlds in one trip :goodvibes.

Thank you! I know some people think splits are a pain, but I don't think it will be that big of a deal...

You're welcome :). We've only done 1 split stay and although I wouldn't do it again for such a short time (we did a 2/4 split), I would do it again if I had 4-5 nights at each resort like you're doing. I think it's a great way to try different resorts on the same trip if I was staying at least 9 or 10 nights total :goodvibes.
