People who take 25 pictures with a character when there is a line a mile long! If you want a dcl photographer picture and you want one on your own camera take the picture at the same time. You don't have to wait till the dcl photographer is done. 1 with the kids 1 with the adults & 1 with family that should be the limit!!!!

Although I agree to some extent on the # of combinations with the character, they actually request that you wait until the DCL photographer takes a picture to take one with your camera. And if you do take the picture at the same time, then the character (and likely your children) are not looking at your camera and you don't get a decent picture. Since the Shutters people are going to take their pictures(whether you want them to or not), if you want one without having to buy it, you wait 30 seconds and snap it after they are done.

It's ok if you are in the back of the crowd with a child on your shoulders, it's the people who are in the middle or the front who do that and then block everybody behind them, children, adults, everyone.

People need to use a little common sense.

Totally agree with the posters that said they are on a Disney Cruise so really nothing bothers me. I literally felt so blessed and thankful to be able to afford a Disney Cruise, excursions, and airfare, really nothing bothers me when I am on the Cruise. I am honestly having such a great time , little things don't bother me. Now if the ship sunk definitely a bummer, but really why ruin your trip worrying about little things that you have no control over.

I agree with you If I let the little things get to me it will just put me in a bad mood and time is waaaaayyy too short on a Disney Cruise! If someone or something is bothering me I find it best to leave the situation and just move on. I know that is sometimes easier said than done though lol. If it was something serious though that's another story.

If people want to take a few pictures with a character I have no problem with that AT ALL. As someone else said too the photographers don't want you taking photos at the same time they are. A few extra seconds is not a big deal IMO, especially after waiting in the long lines. When the cruise is over it is wonderful to have those photos <3 I know myself that sometimes the picture taken didn't come out and I wished I had another *sigh*. On our Med cruise last year we had waited in line for about 20 minutes and a lady and her daughter just cut in front of us all! People couldn't believe it but everyone just kind of laughed in disbelief. Was it rude? Of course, but it was over so quick and it was more like a "What the heck"????. In all of my cruises I had never seen this before and I've never seen it since!

I cruise to try new things, if I wanted home stuff, I'd stay home.

Kids screaming and running in the halls at 5:45 am on a sea day is a close second.

Especially when I'm 5'0" and my grand babies are even much smaller.....looking at the back of a 6'0" man with a child on his shoulders is just plain rude! Don't those folks get it??

LOL you crack me up. These days it's drunk 'mesage' on Facebook to an ex-boyfriend.

I guess this is human nature, but when boarding a bus to the excursion, all the people who want to get on and off first.

While I have an older child in a wheelchair I do not except special treatment which is why we arrive early for EVERYTHING!!

I hate when I finally have an elevator show up that we can fit in with her and people jump in front of us so we can't fit.

When people decide they can fit a family of six in with us then proceed to hit my daughter with their bags.

When I get her a spot in the handicap area for the sail away party and the area in front of her gets taken over by other children. We have actually stopped taking her to the parties because of this problem. We did find the perfect place to watch fireworks with her on the last cruise though!

Swim diapers. While my daughter is 16 (but the size of a 7 year old) is in diapers we would love to take her in the pool. She loves to swim! But we don't take her in. She just gets to sit on the side and put her feet in. We just believe in following the rules.

Trying to get through the doors by the eye-scream area. With a wheelchair I have have to stand there forever because no one wants to stop to let us through.

Sorry I hit the handicap issues but those are the big issues we have.

My children are now adults, and I have entered into grandparent syndrome. What has not changed over the years is our planning to stake out decent viewing spot for my children, only to have latecomers either squeeze in front of us OR. During shows overtake the row overpowering our ability to see well. If I invest the time to stake out an appropriate viewing spot for my family, I don't wish to be crowded out by latecomers. Incidentally, I always insisted my children and now grandchildren be respectful and display manners. Never would I allow them to squeeze in front of another family waiting much longer. Completely rude.

Thank you for posting, a good reminder. I don't think my family falls into the ill-mannered category, but we could be better about purposely making space or holding doors or holding others back so you can get through.

My pet peeves are more about what goes on before/after a Disney cruise than on a cruise.

1. People who make up their own rules / amend the DCL rules to their liking.

DCL's dress code allows shorts - not "nice shorts" not "dress shorts", the only things not allowed on cruise casual nights are "no swimwear or tank tops". If someone wants to wear basketball shorts, hootchie shorts, casual shorts, short-shorts, they can. There's no reason to tell new cruisers that it's "nice shorts and nice shirts". Those booty shorts and one direction t-shirts fall into the DCL dress code.

Also, DCL asks that alcohol brought on board is drank in your stateroom. Not "drank in your stateroom but it's okay if you put it in a travel mug because no one knows and really, who's going to say anything to you because they all work for tips and don't want to tick off the guests."

2. People who wear the Disney Rose coloured glasses and disbelieve anyone who's cruise wasn't 100% perfectly perfect in every way! I've seen so many people attacked on these boards when they report issues with stuff on their cruises.

3. People who think they are better than other cruisers because they sail DCL or who think sailing DCL makes them higher class than Carnival, Royal, NCL cruisers.

I will respectfully disagree on that topic, only because it has happened to us. Once one of our DIS cruise threads moved to FB, people stopped posting on the DIS in favor of FB. God bless the folks that tried to keep those of us on the DIS only in the loop, but in the end, it made for an awkward meet on the ship, as no one knew us and referred to us as 'the people not on FB,' and the others seemed like family that knew each other for years. It was not a great feeling Now, I am fairly inactive on our upcoming cruises & haven't even gone to the thread for our March 2015 sailing. It's definitely changed how we approach cruises. I look at it as another phase, and we just cruise blissfully ignorant (although there are lots of people who recognize Scott from the blog).

In the end, you are right that it is my/our choice not to be on or be a part of FB & accept the consequences of my decisions. I just wanted to post the other point of view.

I have been on quite a few cruises and all of them I was a member of a Dis Group. We had meets and I still felt like the odd man out because we didn't have kids, we were older, whatever. I still go to the Dis Meet & facebook pages for my cruises, but no longer go to the meets onboard. We don't do FE either, because I don't need more stuff at our age. Trying to get rid of stuff right now.

There is a cruise thread on FB that you aren't even allowed to mention Disboards on or you will get an infraction. Who knows, just by me posting this on here I may get kicked off. Oh, well. Disboards was here long before I got on FB.

Not specifically cruise ship (perhaps more park), but my pet peeve is when children, or their parents, believe that they are entitled to stand in front of people who have been staking out their spot for hours just because they're kids. Sure, it is nice if someone offers for a late coming child to stand in front of them or kneels down so that they can see, but I find it completely self-centered when a child just pushes their way to the front of a crowd (or their parents push their child in front of people). If you want a good spot for the parade, arrive early and wait for it. Just because someone is adult doesn't mean that they aren't deserving of a front row seat.

Amen! I completely agree. I've seen this on a cruise ship once when we had 3 kids and 2 adults at the front (but off to the far side) for the sail away show/party. Other adults were giving my DH grief about not moving. Then to put salt on their wounds, DH was chosen to come on stage and "dance".
