Who wants a pet-friendly DVC property?

"Pet-friendly DVC property" means a DVC resort that allows any domesticated pets in rooms designated as "pet-friendly."

Will it be a landslide? :scratchin

Half my family is allergic to dogs and cats. I vote a strong no.

Not to mention, animals definitely bring down the value of a property. I don't need to see or be exposed to animal feces.

I vote No, out of respect to others. I love my pets but many are allergic or just don't care to have animals around while on vacation. I respect that. Bad enough to subject my DVC neighbors to some of my relatives, I can leave the animals at home. :)

I have a dog & would love to be able to take her BUT, I would have to say no. It wouldn't be fair to the dog, we have young kids & much of our day is in the park. It would be an inconvenience for us to take breaks to go let her out then have to leave her again. My mom keeps her when we go out of town, I think that's best for Annabelle.

Also, who would be responsible for cleaning up after them, I'm sure many folks would let them poop on the sidewalk & just leave it there.

I was the one that suggested a poll and forecast a landslide.
So far 33 No to 13 yes, that's the trend, we'll see if it holds?

I don't even want a pet-friendly DVC resort to be part of the DVC, unless there are restrictions on the ability of the PF resort owners to trade into the non-PF resorts.

I think a PF DVC resort would create a very lopsided trading situation since I believe that the vast majority of current DVC owners do not ever want to stay in a pet-friendly DVC resort (me included).

Flame away if you must!

I am an animal lover with three cats and five dogs of my own (before you freak out, we have 12 acres)! I've been around animals all my life, and can't imagine a life without the furry little creatures around. Nevertheless, I vote no on the pf resort. I just don't believe it could stay clean, and, heck, people don't even make their children take care of the resort--how can we expect everyone to be responsible when it comes to the potential damage a pet can cause?

No flames here. ITA. Although I don't see it happening, a pet-friendly resort wouldn't phase me in the least. I wouldn't buy points there and would probably never stay there (sorry, my dog doesn't get to go on vacation), so it's a nonfactor.

With a captive audience of fewer than 100,000 DVC members, I think we'd see a pet-friendly cash resort before a dedicated DVC resort. And there are a lot of good reasons why Disney would never want to open that can of worms.

I am a pet friendly person, but I do NOT want a pet friendly DVC. Too many problems with allergy and maintenance.

Though I love my animals, I voted no. We just got back from a "pet friendly" stay at a HoJo's (it was for my dd horse show), the "friendly" cat before us marked the room, it stunk, and was all they had, a month later, my duaghters boot bag still smells like cat!!!

What am I missing - I thought that OKW and SSR are dedicated DVC resorts?????

now WDW rents the villa that members aren't using - but all timeshares do that. WDW just has a much better system for renting these units.

I vote no also. We do not take our cat on vacations, she stays with my mother. We stayed in a PF hotel once (did not know this when we made the reservation) and the noise is another thing to consider. The barking at all hours of the night was terrible. Never again. We now know to ask if the hotel/resort is PF.

When we travel to dog shows, we are often given a list of accommodations that wecome pets. We do sometimes stay in them, but our dogs never come into the room. Instead, we leave them in the van at night. We travel in an oversized van and have the ability to keep them cool or warm as necessary. I hate lugging crates up to a hotel room, and I do not think it is fair to leave the dog loose in the room.

A big resounding NO here I find it funny that the yes voters have not chimed in to tell us why they would like one or feel one is needed.

On our stay at SSR, the unit next to ours had a cat in it. I did not know till they were checking out and saw the daughter trying to keep the cat under her poncho and the dad carrying out the litter box. I would have reported them had I found out earlier. They were only next to us 2 nights. These were the same people who did not take in the balcony furniture during the hurricane till the last minute.

I have to say no, as well. Lilla is my Yorkie, and although she is very spoiled and has traveled with me often, there are some that don't clean up after their pet. I like to think I am a responsible pet owner, but there are many who are not.
