1) What did you read about on DIS that you would never have tried, or a restaurant that you never would have gone to, that is now an absolute favorite or must do for you?

2) On the flip side, what is something you tried because you'd heard so much about it and you can absolutely NOT understand what the hype was about?

Great things: Dole whips, Jalepeno Cheese stuffed pretzels, Beaches and Cream, Fresh chocolate chip cookie icecream sandwich - loved em all.

Not so great - Boma buffet - don't get me wrong, it tasted great, but my friend and I had some 'stomach issues' afterwards. Happens everywhere once in a while though - I'd give them another try!

planning to try, just because of these boards: Boma, Dole Whips, and Flame Tree barbecue.

Found out about and tried because of the dis.....Ice Cream Social, and it was great!! LTT it was the best on property sit down meal of everyone in our party's trip! One bad.....didn't care for Chef Mickeys, although lots of people on the dis I know do.

Teppanyaki. Never went there before the Dis. Now it's one of our favorites.

Planning to try Nacroossee's, Coral Reef Restaurant, and Mama Melrose's...

Staying away from Hollywood & Vine, and Chef Mickey's.

Planning to also try and get PSes at Cinderella's Round Table for lunch our last day there. How soon should I try for Pses? I know it's 90 days, and we are going July 10th-15th.

I'm just a wanna-be Disney Princess at heart!! princess:

Fresh, Blue Zoo, Wolfgang's Upstairs--tried all 3 due to info on the boards.

Dole Whips, Beavertails, Ohana & Beaches & Cream...love them all. ;)

We tried Boma for Breakfast, Beaches & Cream, Mama Melrose's & Cape May for breakfast last trip & loved them all! :)

We also tried Le Cellier for a late lunch after so many raves here, but didn't enjoy our experience there at all.

tried BOMA, loved it
tried BEaches and Cream, loved it
tried Earl of Sandwich, very good
tried Ohana, didn't like it

Tried: Beaches & Cream, Whispering Canyon, and the Keys to the Kingdom tour and the birthday buttons at GR/CH. :)

Going to try: 1900 Park Fare's Cinderella's Gala Feast and Disney's Animal Kingdom (never been in ALL the times I've been to WDW). :hyper:

We've been going to DW since 1989 and since finding the DIS, we've added so much to our trips!!
1. MVMCP
2. Le Cellier
3. Columbia Harbor House
4. Dole Whips (can't believe I never tried these!!)
5. E-Nights!!
6. Resort hopping (not the pools!!, just to look around and eat)
7. CP Dinner package
8. Fantasmic Dinner Package
9. Almost forgot AP's, which in the beginning saved us $$, but now going 3 times on one pass I'm having a bit of trouble convincing DH that we are still saving)

I'm sure there's many more. This board is GREAT!! :hyper: ::yes:: :hyper:

Tried Boma - loved it; we're going back again this year and wouldn't miss it.

Tried Beaches & Cream - it was ok, but didn't see what all the hype is about; just a burger & ice cream joint :)

Tried Boma and enjoyed it, and GF tea and LOVED it! Non-food: did MNSSHP which I never knew about til the DIS. Also, the DIS made me want to stay at AKL so I did for 1 night and enjoyed it.

Want to try Le Cellier, CG, MVMCP.

There wasn't anything I tried (that had been hyped) that I didn't like, except maybe some of the F & W stuff (but that was more the people on the Allears site that recommended stuff).

We tried Bomas because so many positive reviews.
Not big on buffets and took a friend with us. Although we thought the food was pretty good, found it nothing phenominal and just too crowded. We tried it but wont go again.
Same with Ohanas.

Well, I'm still pretty new around here, but been to the World a few times.

The only thing I can say I've tried from people here is changing our res. from Cape May to 1900 Park Fair. I even did a poll.:D I hope it's worth it.

Tried the Tangierine Cafe because of info I read on these boards, and the food was delicious and the setting was beautiful.

Tried Akershus - My DH really enjoyed it, but the three of us didn't enjoy it as much (although it's a beautiful setting).

Tried Kona Cafe - One of the best meals of our last trip. We'll definitely return.

Tried "snacking around the world" in Epcot, and we really enjoyed that (although we didn't have the stamina to eat something from EVERY country)!!!

LTT for lunch was excellent (another relaxing setting)!

Nonrestaurant - Tried AKL concierge. It was everything it was cracked up to be! The biggest perk of staying concierge is all the quiet, humorous family time we spent in the lounge. It was definitely special.

The Adventurers Club - LOTS of fun and very unusual!

There are so many!
Tried:
Ohana's: Didn't like it...
Dole Whips: YUM
Illuminations Cruise: fun fun fun doing it again this time around and sharing with fellow DISers
Tonga Toast: YUM
Ice Cream Social: didn't think it was really worth it
Fantasmic Dinner Package: do it every year now!
CP Package: I will be one of the only ones that didn't like CP

Going to try this time:
Toll house ice cream sandwich
Narcoosee's
Thinking about trying the PB&J Shake at Prime time but im still not sure.
Peco's Bill for the fixins bar

I bet there is more...but I can't remember them....every day I come on here there is something new that I want to try!!
Especially in the Snack/Dessert dept!

I also tried Peco's Bills because of the reports on this board. Wouldn't have been able to try out CRT breakfast if it hadn't been for the kindness of a DISer, who let me join them. And although we'd been to the resturaunt, I wouldn't have had the Berry Cobler at Artist Point except for the raves on this board. Oh-and the Zebra Domes at Boma's. This board has been full of great information. Just remembered something else-the No Way Jose Sundae at Beaches and Cream. Hope to try out the Beavertail soon.

Tried so much from here, but the biggest ones are:

Boma - love it
Jiko - love it
Beaches N Cream - mmmmmmm

Zebra Domes - don't care for them
Dole Whips - nothing impressive to me
