to those who are on the "go to the food court side".. I have a good receipe to share that is perfect for the food court toasters... butter two pieces of wonder bread ( has to be wonder as only that bag is an acceptable alternative to refillable mug so kill 2 birds with one stone idea applies) slap on sliced mozerella cheese and pizza sauce, pepperoni and veggies..buttered sides out., just make sure you do not add so many fillings it won't fit in the slot... then toast in toaster. this works best in the regular slot kind, in the other kind( conveyor belt kind) sometimes they fall a part ....btw...do not try this at home cause it ruins the toaster when the cheese gooshes out but hey, you don't have to worry about that at the food court( reason I do it there)..our family loves their "wdw mini pizzas";) !

That is one of the FUNNIEST things I've read this week. I will never be able to look at(I only look - don't buy) Wonder bread the same way in the grocery store again.

I have a new appliance recommendation:

How about one of those FoodSaver contraptions that seals bags? You could take it to the food court and make your own bags as an alternative to the refillable mugs or the Wonder bread bags.

I can't believe this thread is back- maybe we should bump the mug/bread bag swap too

I don't understand why other people would have a problem with what you bring into your own hotel room. I mean, use them wisely. As long as you don't burn things all the time, I can't see the harm. Personally, I couldn't imagine dragging any of that stuff with me but who cares if someone else wants to?

What ever happened to the Mug swap post? I miss it, and hey, I need to swap all these wonder bags I have saved up

Anyone ever bring a barrel of oil? You would need to figure out how to have a bonfire (maybe in the tub??) but deep fried turkeys are yummy, and you could make enough for the whole floor in no time (that way they will not complain about it).

Take my word for it--LOTS of people care about what you do in the privacy of your hotel room! Seems odd to me that anyone would care too, but some people are APPALLED at the TACKINESS of it, other people think it's RUDE to force other people to smell your food (???), and some people think they need to tell others HOW to take a vacation ("who would want to cook on vacation??").

Read the entire thread--it's hilarious!

as we were leaving last time I noticed they clean the inside of the metal garbage cans found at the end of the outside halls really well using a bleach solution( same strength recommended for removal of organic residue found in many ebay purchased refillable wdw mugs) so no need to use the tub for your turkey extravaganza. the cans are plenty big enough. that way you have the tubto fill with the ice from the ice machine for your bottles of water you took when you"visited" the concierge level..keeps them good and cold! btw they are complimentary for anyone who ever visited WDW.

ROFL!!!!

By the way, why spend the additional money on wonder bread bags when you can just ask mousekeeping for some extra garbage bags?

what If I only burn things some of the time and what can I burn? I was planning on burning the curtains since I like a lot of light in the room and figure with all the cooking grease they have collected over the years they ought to put off a good flame for making one of our favorite wdw desserts, "in-room s'mores" but am not really sure if that would be ok or not. has anyone ever burned the curtains and if so did the CM at the front desk have to tell you it was ok to do so or did you just do it and then see if mousekeeping noticed? any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey, I just thought nobody has mentioned bringing one of those giant turkey deep fryers. You could just use it in the bathroom because there is a fan in there... it wouldn't cause any harm would it? No safety hazard there. I'm sure the next guests would barely even smell it!

My kids eat them raw, too....they are a camping favorite! Just open the package and sprinkle on the little seasoning pack! Messy tho so they are perfect for camping as they are OUTDOORS running around (I promise I won't let my kids eat them raw when we are at WDW!!). Ya have to look at the nutrition thing over time when you're dealing with kids..not just one day. Sometimes my younger one will eat nothing but chickent nuggets and cheese sandwiches for days, but then he'll switch to broccoli and big glasses of milk. I think it is unrealistic for kids (and adults, too!) to totally avoid their fav things just because they are unhealthy. Everyone needs treats..just everything in moderation!!! BTW, I have to admit that I like them raw, too (but w/o the seasoning!)!! :p

Now I can plan a trip for Thanksgiving - I like to add extra garlic to the Cajun seasoning so I think I'll cook some brussel sprouts in my hot pot to cover the smell of the turkey.

If it weren't so early in the morning I would raise a martini to you lucky_bunni for such a wonderful idea. I love that picture of you and Wes - you are a pair of cuties.

another great smell eraser is the simple potato..we always leave a few stashed behind the Tv stand. once they start to rot nobody even notices the spagetti sauce/turkey/dead raccoon odors.

btw sorry crazy4mandms...you had such good intentions when you started this poll and it has led to sheer chaos:eek: :wave2: !

LOL...I'm not offended..I think its very funny and at least it turned lighthearted after what was getting to be heated discussions. I know I came away from this thread with a lot more understanding about the issue...it seems people are about evenly split between appliances and no appliances...but I think the main thing is to be considerate....other than that..I'm thinking we should start a brand new thread..............

What is the most outlandish appliance you can use in your room and how would you use it?

---who is game????!!!!!!

I think I'll bring a soldering iron and a blow torch in case I need to fix anything. (I actually have that stuff in my garage).

Or in case I need to "flame" anyone first hand.
