Poll: Rosh Hashanah holiday?

We are trying to decide between two different weeks. The first option would be the first week in October. We would be able to get discounted tickets through the YES program and some other benefits by traveling with a large homeschool group. But I noticed that Monday & Tuesday are Rosh Hashanah, and I thought I remembered reading that several schools (in the Northeast?) take those days off this past September and MAY have contributed to higher crowds.

Our second option would be to go on our own the week before the week of Thanksgiving - no perks except that we would have the flexibility to have more days and more time in the parks. Plus, I think that week is traditionally a "low crowd" week.

So, I'm trying to get a feel for how common it is for the schools to be out for these holidays.

My child is still too young for school, but I live in Christiandom Texas, so I can tell you that no one gets those days off, but I'm sure it would be an excused absence. Last year I believe Rosh Hashanah fell somewhere mid September, and mostly during the week. So because school has been in session already, or just starting for the north east, I doubt they had this holiday off unless it was a special religious private school. Disney traffic was pretty low then, but with this year it's in October, 1 out of 10, with 10 being the highest, you're looking at a crowd level of 5 during the week, and a 6 or 7 if you go on the weekends. They're doing their Halloween celebration, so that makes it busier.

Week before thanksgiving... ...highly recommend. Traffic is low, a 2. Weekends will still be average. But DO NOT go the Saturday before Thanksgiving. That's the week that most people go, since school are mostly closed that week and businesses let their employees off, and the take off the other days. It's super busy, super expensive, and everyone is really just waiting till Black Friday, when the park magically transforms into Christmasland

Phoenix, AZ here- yes, my district does, but not all do. We impact Disneyland way more than World though.

We do not now. But when we used to live in a large metropolitan area, it was quite common there.

Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah are holidays.

A good part of New York (the NY metro area so parts of NJ and CT too) gets several Jewish holidays off in the fall though school calendars are not out yet to officially know.

NYC resident here. No kids yet but everyone gets Rosh Hashanna and Yom Kipur here. 98% of the people getting it off don't stay home or go to temple as only 2% of the overall population of the US is Jewish. It is a little more dense in NYC but still it is a holiday a lot in the area don't celebrate so use as vacation time.

I believe all of Maryland gets the first day of Rosh Hashana off, they also get Yom Kipper off. I know our district does, since I pay attention to the calendar to figure out when not to go on field trips (we homeschool).

My district does not, but some of the surrounding ones do.

We are in the Midwest and do not get any days off for this.

Yes we got these days off for public school in my area.

I'm going to say this is going to be a regional thing. Religious schools that have off will not be vacationing so I wouldn't factor them in.

Most NE schools that I know off have off for these days.

However with all of that said I don't think it will have a huge impact on crowds.... But I could be completely wrong....

ETA: I remember years where school started on a Tuesday and we had Thursday Friday off for the holiday, don't think because it's early in the year they don't give the days off. In addition NYC also began giving off Muslim Holidays this year. The schools had the following days off in September: 14,15 off for Rosh Hashanah, 23 for Yom Kipper and 24 for Eid al-Adha.

They also will be getting the Lunar New Year off ... In February
