Yes, I have a cat in my signature... :rotfl2:

I cup my hand and use it...and then I spit the water out.

I have phone hang-ups (no pun intended) and actually had to call Caro to clarify what in the world she meant by using her toothbrush to rinse her mouth. For those of you who know me and my phone issues, you know what a big deal that was. :scared: :woohoo: I truly had no idea that people did this. :rotfl:

My DH used to stick his mouth under the faucet, which bugged the buggers out of me. Finally, after 24 years of marriage I snapped and I gave him a cup. Took probably a week of me reminding him for him to remember to use the cup...   Yes, I'm serious. Tell me who has issues. :rolleyes1 ;)

My DH also brushes his teeth like your DH. I've learned to live with it and it doesnt bother me anymore. I say to each his own!

I use a combination approach:
-brush with toothpaste on brush, spitting occasionally as necessary
-rinse brush
-brush with no toothpaste on brush, spitting some more
-cup right hand and slurp, swish, and spit 2 or 3 times in a row
-rinse brush one last time to get the last traces of toothpaste out of it

Like the OP, my beautiful DW Caropooh, I use the toothbrush to rinse with. I have never been fond of a single cup (too many germs wanting to live in me) and using a new dixie cup everyday is wasteful.

And T&B, I happen to like Caro just the way she is

LB, that is quite the process you go through to brush and rinse! Is is always your right hand that youcup or could it be your left?

Funny you should ask, Caro. I heard someone on TV once talking about how you could stave off senility in your future by doing ordinary tasks in different ways, so every now and then I try it with my left hand, but I always end up sloshing water all over myself.

I just had to give my DH a bad time...but keep in mind I didn't say anything for the first 24 years of our marriage.

Andrew, when I talked to Caro on the phone I asked her how you rinsed your mouth and she didn't know. Now that I found interesting. ;) :rotfl:

I've heard the same thing and I also do things in different ways on purpose (and will try the toothbrush technique if I can catch myself, but it's such a habit), but it obviously has not helped with my senility yet. :rotfl2:

Well then, just for the sake of my senility, tomorrow I'm going to use a dixie cup to rinse my mouth! I think trying to brush my teeth would be dangerous for my face, the toothbrush may slip and poke my eye out or something!

Hey, I tried the cup method this morning and it nearly froze my teeth! It wan't like I had ice cubes in my water or anything! I think I'll go back to my toohbrush method tomorrow!

This is weird I'm sure, but I spit and then I run my toothbrush under the water and really quick bring it to the edge of my lips and suck the little bit of water between the bristles into my mouth. I do this like 5 times until I have enough water in my mouth to swish and then I repeat that process. I really don't know why I am sharing my hygiene habits with you people.:confused3
