Yes, I know there are numerous posts on the topic, but I am yet to see a poll. I'm curious to get DISBoard's opinion on the recent news.

In my opinion, this is an atrocity, but I'm curious to know what the majority thinks

Maelstrom or Frozen...

The biggest disappointment is that the net number of attractions at EC will stay the same.

I loathe Frozen but still choose that ride. I know many have nostalgia about Maelstrom, but it is just not a good ride. If the new Frozen ride is a legit, mind blowing Tier 1 ride, then it is something Epcot sorely needs.

I love Maelstrom, but I can't express an opinion about a Frozen ride that doesn't even have concept art.

I much rather have both! Epcot needs all the rides it can get.
But Frozen will be a tier one ride most likely. Epcot doesn't have enough tier 2
Uggg

I have two boys (11 and 16). Never saw Frozen. Maelstrom was great for boys-Vikings, trolls, darkness! I'm sad to see it go. It's time for some boy-themed rides (and buffets). Some of us love WDW but only have boys.

I agree with this one. I too love Maelstrom and will be sad to see it go, however I can't really pass judgement on the new Frozen ride....yet.

I love Maelstrom and I love Frozen. I made my decision based on what I felt fit with World Showcase the best. That's Maelstrom - hands down. Disney stated that the ride is going to be all about Arendelle and some of our favorite scenes from the movie. That's not Norway. That's not even Norway with a Frozen overlay like what they did in Mexico with The Three Cabelleros. That is straight up putting something 100% fictional in place of a ride and show that was about the history of Norway. That is what I am opposed to. I'd be fine with Anna and Elsa greeting at Akershus. I'd be fine with a meet and greet. I don't like the idea of taking something that is all about the country, in one of the already smallest pavilions in Epcot, and replacing it with something completely fictional.

Now a Frozen ride near Animation Academy at Hollywood Studios? Now we're talking. Or, replacing Captain EO with something Frozen-based where they discuss all that Elsa is able to create all through her imagination? That might could work, too. Or updating Wonders of Life Pavilion to include a Frozen ride? Yeap.

I chose Frozen as well. Maelstrom needs an update (not that I don't love it). However, I too bemoan that there is a zero net gain in attractions in a park that needs them so badly and feel it will be a nightmare durring the down time. If this were MK, no problem.

I don't think it will be a legit mind blowing ride, but I think the popularity of frozen and the lack of "good" rides at EPCOT will help the other legitimate tier 1 rides in that park.

I didn't vote because there is no way to know what the new Frozen attraction will be like.

I do enjoy the current Maelstrom attraction but it is a little long in the tooth. Hoping the new attraction will be good.

this.

I have a soft spot for Maelstrom because it was my second ever ride at WDW, and I also love old chintzy things, but a Frozen ride could be fun if they do it right!

I'm very disappointed. Update the ride, sure, but stay true to Norway. Wasn't that the point of the WS pavilions? If we want to experience a fantasy world, put it in MK or make a separate attraction in Norway. Don't take away Maelstrom.

Like others, I'm not head over heels for Frozen, but I found Maelstrom to feel like an overly long interactive holiday commercial.

We were just on maelstrom in February. It was so dated and dulllllll. Glad to see it go!
