I'll be the first on this thread to admit, I tried it in college. I hung around with about 20 close friends at the time, and the boys' house was pretty much POT HQ. They had a 6 ft tree growing in the back yard! I tried it, didn't really like it all that much, but I didn't mind the second hand smoke of it. I actually like the smell of it, but didn't like smoking it myself.
In one of those hangout days, we used to do a lot of barbecuing/grilling. One night, they decided to stuff a lamb with some pot and marinated it in whiskey before putting it on a spit and roasting it. I swear, that was the best lamb I have ever tasted. The pot and whiskey really made it tender and so good! It didn't make any of us high, but it sure made the food taste really good. Ever since then, we'd use it for cooking as much as possible.
Since I left college, I haven't done pot but there are times that I do miss that smell.
I have no fear of judgement. I used to smoke it all the time when I was late teens, early twenties.....then I went to occassional (once a month or so), and now not at all. And only not at all because of drug testing at work. (no need to take that chance!!)
I do have some drinks every weekend. (and yes, I may get quite tipsy)
And to those that this horrifies (you assume I'm a drug addict and a drunk), the boring life that I will assume you lead is just as horrifying to me.
I got so turned off by my chain-smoking parents as a kid that I literally have never taken a puff off anything in my life. I figured I had enough second-hand smoke to last me a while.
Used to smoke some at parties and such when I was single. But after getting pregnant and having kids, it's just not IT anymore. Seldom even have a beer anymore! But have plenty of friends who live for it. Can't understand that but hey, they don't live in my house!
