For MK we are usually in the park before rope drop by doing a 8:05 to 8:15 breakfast and are there until closing which is usually 10. This year they were open until 1 a.m. but we left at midnight. This was with our 5 year son. But like others mentioned, we take breaks IN the park. We time our long cool rides for times when we'll need breaks...like COP, HOP and the Peoplemover. Our DS also took a nap right after lunch and I stayed with him while DH went to ride things I had no interest in riding. We were there for 16 hours. But we also don't tour the parks every day. We tend to go once a year and only do park days 3 or 4 days of the week. I know to always plan a rest day after our MK day because that is the one park that we never have enough time in. :tink:

We do morning (never made rope drop yet!) to mid afternoon, take a break, then evening till absolute latest time possible.

Voted 4-6 but it depends on the park. For MK it's usually like 5ish hours. Hollywood studios can be done in half a day for us. Epcot is the exception though. Definitely an 8+ hour park.

We're generally in the parks from open to close! One time this meant being at MK from 9am rope drop to a 3am closing time!

We go in the morning....back to beachclub to rest/pool....then back to the park, usually til close!:cool1:

We "tour" about 6 hours, between 8 am and 2 pm and then we go back to the resort for a rest and then we return for dinner and the fireworks.

When we've gone in July we would hit rope drop and stay till after lunch then back for rest and swimming. After dinner we would return to the parks for parades and fireworks.

Now this year we are going the end of November so the plan is rope drop and stay all day or hop to another park either way more commando with the cooler temps :santa:

We always get to the parks before they open, go back to the resort for lunch and to rest for about an hour or two, then we go back to the park before dinner, and stay as late as possible.

Taking a break in the middle of the day is a nice way to refresh. I like to be there at park opening, but I also like to be there late in the day. Sometimes my DH wants to rest longer than I do, then I get antsy!!

I voted 6+... however, I also tour solo or with just my mom (and she can go for longer than I can!) so it's all about when I'm ready to pack it in. In other words, I cheat and am of absolutely no help to your itinerary making. I will say when I went in 2009 with a friend and her 2 1/2 y/o girl, we still toured for most of the day once we learned to get inside the AC when we were hot.

I pretty much always go open to close. I will however often switch parks midway through the day.

Last time I planned to tour the monorail resorts one afternoon to see the Christmas decorations. I went, and I enjoyed it, but the whole time I kept feeling like I "should" be in the park.

You can always plan for a break and change your mind if you're still feeling energized at that point in the day.

6+ was too low for the end of your poll. While we are not earlybirds. We never make ropedrop but we almost always make closing. Whatever time that may be. Once it was 3am! 10 or 12 hours is more like it! We don't go commando anymore (after 35-40 trips) but we don't usually go back to our room for a rest. We try to find ways to conserve our energy in the parks. Go to a show where we can sit for 20 min in AC or grab a drink and some food at a restaurant. :)

I said 6+ but the day is usually broken up by a mid-day break. We do about 5-6 hours in the AM, break, then another 2-3 in the evenings. Our kids are young and we look forward to later nights when they get older.

I voted for 4-6, but it depends on the day and the park.

Most days we get there at Rope Drop, take a break a little after noon, then we may or may not return for the evening. We tend to travel during the lower season, when the parks aren't open very late.

30 mins before rope drop until they drag me out! After all the $$$ I'm spending I want as much time as possible. Sleep when you're dead!

We don't take breaks. Thats not to say that we always stay from rope drop to " hey you, get out of here, we want to go home". But once we get to the park we stay until we are ready to leave, or switch to another park. The only time we might leave otherwise is if we have an out of the park ADR, but then we just leave, eat and go back.
However, we only go in the late fall or winter months when it is much cooler and sometimes downright cold, I don't know if we could maintain the same plan in the heat of summer.

We usually go during the summer when there are long park hours. We go from rope drop till lunchtime, then go back to the resort and spend the afternoon at the pool, and then go back to a park for dinner till closing.

The exception is AK, we just go from rope drop till about 3 or 4pm.

It depends on how beautiful that park was. But I would love to go in luxury resorts. That place is very awesome.
