Excuse me for sounding dumb, but what is everyone talking about. Is WDW trying something new at night. I must have missed the boat on this one. Can anyone explain?

Mouse Planet has a good explanation:

There are also explanations at allears and on the DIS.

I like the EMH because it gets us up and going, but these have become so crowded. I can imagine that the late hours will make that particular park even worse. I can also see it being an "excuse" to bar the general public from late hours, therefore shortening the evening hours in the other parks. Hope not. The trends just do not seem to be adding extra hours over the years for the guests, but tends to weigh down on the side of saving WDW money. If they keep both the EMH and add the late, keeping the other historical late hours for the unaffected parks, then I'm all for it.

I like the idea of EMH at night, but I am confused. I had heard at first that the designated park would be open THREE hours longer at night for resort guests. One hours hardly seems worth it. Guests could use up a whole hour just going to City Hall to get the armband or whatever, and then standing in line. Day guests could easily beat the system by, for example, getting in line for Splash Mountain 5 minutes before the park closes. They will then be able to clog up the lines, thereby erasing any benefit for resort guests.
One hour sounds like a losing idea. Can I retract my vote?

I think allot will depend on how crowded EMH will be at night. The advantage of mornings is the low crowds. If it becomes crowded for whatever reason then the benifit is gone and it becomes a useless perk.

Of course I also pray for e-ride nights every trip. You just can't beat MK or World Showcase at night!!!:teeth: And to get in for and extra hour or more without having to pay an extra $12/per person!! Can you ask for anything more?!?!?!:D :D :D
