P.S. It's for that peeing problem you seem to have!

It was such a long set up to get that one line in there.....

I guess the trick is trying to figure out how to only pee in the pool when those who feel they have no responsibility or consideration to fellow members are also swimming......

Of course, I'm just kidding....I don't think it's right to discriminate towards any members regardless of thier stated values or lack of values when peeing in the pool....

What's Captain Midnight's favorite letter?

My understanding is that the thread prompting this poll was primarily about those sellers who rent points to others and knowingly booking multiple reservations they knew they wouldn't use. Personally, I don't have a problem with occasional renting, it's those doing so as a commercial enterprise in a manner that is detrimental to normal reservation patterns and which isn't consistent with:

Rich,

All these nefarious activities that you allude to.
Is there any evidence that supports these occurring on a regular basis?

Or are you just having fun pushing some buttons.

How many of us consistently fail to get resides for the dates/rooms we want, year after year. My guess is that very few experience this scenario.

If it is truly so bad, then where is the flood of resale contracts?

Captain Midnight,
It's nice to know that you have

for others, being an equal opportunity pee'er and all!!!

P.S. By the way, when's your next vacation and at which resort?

When we make a reservation we always say: "Please hold this week for us UNLESS someone else wants it", just to be nice. I also have some disney property in Florida for sale cheap.

Ummm...shouldn't that be "pee" hop?

I don't know if they still have it,but at one time they had a "lottery" for Christmas or NYE,(maybe it was just for the Millenium). But say they do have a lottery again for a prime time event. Assume 1000 spots availible. 1000 members would love to be there and 500 other members see a great e-bay opertunity. So 1500 members exercised their rights & jumped into the lottery. To those who feel no accountibilty, asume you were one of the 1000 who really wanted to be there but lost out to a profitier: How does it feel ? Will you bid for your spot on e-bay ?

The original thread about the member tying up two spots for a potential renter, I'm pretty certain she had no malice or ill will towards any other member. She probably didn't even think about a negative consequence for what she had done. That's the problem I have, people just not thinking about the effect their actions have on other members.

The "Special Seasons Priority List" (lottery) was around for several years, but ended since never did the list fill that week it was designed to control. There were always reservations still available when the 11 month priority window opened.

The "List" can still be implemented if DVC feels the need, but to date, it's been deemed unnecessary.

"What will be next, telling people that if they use DVC every christmas they are selfish because there are people who might get blocked out of using DVC on christmas because they want to book 4 months out instead of 11 months out day by day? Telling people that they can't exchange their points for cruises or II exchanges or concierge collection because then some DVC members might not be able to stay at their preferred DVC resort while non-DVC members who exchanged in are staying there? Those of you who use grand villas all the time, I think you are being selfish by doing so. Wouldn't fairness dictate that you give it a rest and allow other members the use of this extremely limited room type?

Who cares that you bought enough points to allow you to stay in a grand villa all the time, or stay at WDW every year at christmas time, or exchange out to go to Hawaii? You're hogging limited resources for yourself and making it impossible for other DVC members to use them."

The difference Lisa that every member has the same access to a Christmas ressie. Simply plan your trip and call at 11 months. These ressies are made on a first come-first served basis.

Exactly-so why should it matter what other members are reserving/renting/holding/cancelling etc.

The beauty of DVC is the flexibility. 11 month window is great for the "planners" among us, but many others don't/can't/won't plan that far in advance. If I'm sitting on ressies I have no intention of using, then I'm keeping someone else out of it until I decide to release it.
