I wonder whether the families of these unruly little ankle-biters will be up in arms about their precious little snookems getting tased while on vacation.
And once again the local media reveals their Anti-Disney bias. You gotta love the headline here: "Police: 'Spitting' Teen Shocked With Taser At Disney". The headline alone certainly makes it sound like the teen was tasered for spitting. She was not. A more accurate headline would have read "Teen Shocked With Taser After Assaulting an Officer at Disney."
Still, you can bet that a lot of tourists who only see the headline on the papers in the hotel gift shop are going to walk around thinking "They tasered a kid for spitting? That's outrageous!"
but how do they enforce this?? don't get me wrong these kids deserves to be in alot of trouble, but I'm afraid that something that disney just can't enforce
Well, it's certainly possible that they could go to a ticket seller and buy new tickets, then reenter the park. However, if they ever show up on property again, and we find them (if a CM sees them and recognizes them, for example), they'll be detained and their identity verified. If it's them, then they'll be arrested and charged with criminal trespassing.
I see that it was during Extra Magic Hours, too. If they were resort guests, and they were banned, then security went to their room, packed up all their stuff, and dumped it on the side of the road at the edge of the property. Being banned means they don't get to come back onsite for any reason -- including to pick up their belongings.
I'd love to be a fly on that wall when the girl grows up and gets married and has to explain to her kids and husband why they can't go to Disney.
Does a ban extend nation wide, world wide, or just to WDW? Hopefully, it would extend world wide.
AFAIK, it's a worldwide ban. I actually know someone who's been banned from property. I've personally told her that if she ever shows up I'll call security myself.
Without knowing the circumstances, I'd have to agree with an earlier poster. That type wears their bannination like a badge of honor.
Update: I found the MySpace pages of the two "adults". It's interesting that they're boyfriend and girlfriend (apparently she just had his baby). Plenty of photos of him (and the baby) on
her page. The only photo he has on
his page is of his car (and girls in bikinis). Classy.
