What's the Pokémon game population like in WDW? Tonnes of beasts to be caught or nothing at all?

I've been very happy every time I go to WDW. I love Pokemon Go. I've found quite a few different things there that sure aren't around where I live.

And I finally got enough MagiKarp to get my first Gyrados. And I'm well on my way to having enough for another one after my last trip.
Caught my first Pikachu there and a Charmander, Gloom and Hitmonchan on my last trip.

Where we live, we have very few water pokemon, so even though it was just commons we had fun catching Slowpokes, Psyducks and Magikarps. Caught a couple Bulbasaurs and Dratini too. We did fill out our Pokedex some, but there wasn't an amazing source of rares anywhere. And of course there are a TON of pokestops to spin for experience and an always full bag.

The boys played it a Pop Century the day we were stuck at the hotel due to the hurricane. They were everywhere!

I know this is dragging an old thread up from the depths, but where in WDW is the sweet spot for fun/varied/powerful pokémon?

Parks will have a bunch. Not necessarily rare ones though (rare depends on your perspective, but there's not much variety from a few main species in the parks)
I have found a wider variety of pokemon at the resorts.
The resorts also have gyms that are easier to keep control of since there is less traffic throughout the day
