Points/Ressies for DL hotels?

Hi all! My family of 4 has been to WDW many times and purchased a reservation from a DVC member to stay on site. We are going on our first Disneyland vacation in July and were wondering if this same process can be done for any of the DL hotels? Are there ressies out there to buy or do I buy points and how do I know how many points I need??? Sorry so many questions and thanks in advance for any and all information!

I don't know if you could get a better deal buying someone's points. This is something you'd be best working out for yourself. You might just be better booking your stay here on cash. You can work out how many points you would need based on the chart above and see what price per point you can get from a DVC member.

As a DVC member with points, I find it better for me to book with my points than on cash. If I wasn't, I'd be booking these hotels on cash.

As a DVC member with points, I find it better for me to book with my points than on cash. If I wasn't, I'd be booking these hotels on cash.

I agree. I think we saved a couple hundred dollars booking GCH on points. I called Costco and shopped around but those rooms are expensive when no discounts are available. I hurried up and booked on points, because rooms were going fast!
