Has anyone any experience booking DL Paris using DVC points through the Disney Collection? We're contemplating a visit in the fall of 2009 and thought we'd better start planning. Our 2007/08 points are being used for a family extravaganza in January '09, so we should have plenty of points available to use in the fall. :yay:

I understand that booking Hong Kong Disney with points includes park admissions, but it seems that daily park admission is required when using points at DLP, but is not included.

Not that we wouldn't want to have daily access to the parks, but I'm not sure why it's required if not included.

If anyone can advise, it would be appreciated. And how did you like the parks?

the park tickets use to be included but that ended in 2007. the only park that has tickets for members is hong Kong Disney. this is one of the perks that members lost:furious:

I wouldn't call it a lost perk necessarily. Granted they took away the free tickets, but they also lowered the point requirements to stay. For instance, Sequoia Lodge went from 48 points in regular season to 26. To me, the extra 22 points is probably worth losing the tickets...

In 2001 we used points at go to DLP. We stayed seven nights at the Disneyland Hotel. It also has a private park entrance. We had LOS passes back then to the park. One other nice thing about DLP is that the Paris Metro (subway) has a terminal stop there by the hotel. We went into Paris several times by ourselves and really had a funtime.

We just got back from our second stay at DLP on points. The first time, we stayed at the Newport Bay Club. Tickets were included at that time, but as another poster mentioned, points requirements were also higher. This time we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel. We HAD to buy length of stay passes when we booked using points. I probably would not have chosen the Disneyland Hotel when passes were included, because the points required were prohibitive, but it was a pain to have to shell out cash for the tickets. You will be refunded the cost of the tickets, however, if you cancel before the cancellation deadline.

We really liked DLP. Lots of different attractions, and very pretty.

We stayed at Sequoia Lodge in March of 07 for 2 nights following a week in Paris using points. It was very easy to book - called MS, got the 2 nights, and they booked our in park breakfast one of the days. Park passes were included at that time. The hotel was lovely, the room was just okay. It was big, but very dark, no TV channels in English (as opposed to our hotel in Paris which had channels in several languages). The bathroom was older looking, needed some updating.

Is breakfast included when you stay on points? If so, is is continental or is it a character meal?

Thanks!

Breakfast is included for all hotel guests. When we stayed at the Newport Bay Club, it was continental, with all cold items. When we stayed this time at the Disneyland Hotel, it also included hot items like eggs, bacon and pancakes. Not sure if it differs by hotel. While it is not a character breakfast per se, there are characters in the lobbies of each hotel in the morning, and you can line up for pictures and autographs.
