we are flying into MCO Nov 2012..taking Magical Express to WL..would like to rent a car(for 5 ppl=2 kids three adults) we are leaving out of TPA so would like to return the car at Tampa Airport-our flight isn'tuntil 5:00pm...where is the best place to rent a car by WL, how do you get there to pick up the car and does anyone know which agencies are located in tampa airport?
are there specific websites to search for our particular situation or should I just search each agency separately?

One-way rentals are a pain. It used to be that you could pick up anywhere in FL and drop off anywhere in FL for no additional charge. Now, most car rental companies will charge you extra for a one-way. I would start with Car Rental Savers: http://www.carrentalsavers.com/index.html . Check both their original search and their Florida search. I would also check the rates for the codes over at Mousesavers: http://www.mousesavers.com/rentalcar.html . Your best bet may be with Budget as they don't appear to charge extra for one-way rentals. Check the DIS/DU code here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/discounts/discounts-transportation.htm#rental .

The closest car rental companies are National/Alamo which are onsite, but just about any car rental company will have a nearby location that will pick you up from a WDW resort. It takes about 90-120 minutes to get to TPA.

I assume you are just looking to rent the car on your departure day to get to the Tampa airport.
The closest rental company to WL would be at the CCC which handles National/Alamo. They will pick you up at your resort, and are also located at the Tampa airport.
Simply go to their web site and put in pickup at CCC (ORLR72) and return to Tampa airport (TPAT71) with your dates and times.
You may need to rent car seat as well depending on the childrens ages.

You will still need to pay the one-way fee even if you keep it longer for a week. I would price from MCO as well as from one of the locations near WDW. Sometimes you will get better rates at an airport and other times you will pay more fees and taxes at an airport.

ETA: You will probably need a minivan for your crew, although you *might* be able to make-do with an SUV or a Full Size. It depends on how much luggage you plan to take. You might also save some money by renting a Full Size for the week and then renting an extra car to get people and luggage to the Tampa airport on your departure day.
