Point discount for booking cruise onboard with DVC points?

I've heard that just like there's a 10% cash discount for booking another cruise onboard, there is also a point discount if you want to book onboard with DVC points. Does anyone have experience with this? How big was the discount?

Ok, I got a quote on points from DVC for a Jan/Feb (value) cruise in 2008, so I will compare the point chart to the quote. (first number chart, second number quote for rebooking)

Hope this helps, looks like it can be a good deal for rebooking on the inside cabins.

We just got back from the cruise in July. I think the discount is about the same for points. I looked at it but was not impressed since using cash was still a better deal than than using the discounted points for another trip in June.

We went on the member cruise last year, and were told that within 72hrs of disembarking you could call member services and rebook and get a points discount...we did and booked the Sept 15 7 night for under 500 pts for 4 adults and 1 child in a cat 10. I believe the points discount is about equal to the cash rebooking on board!
