I made my reservation for a two bedroom at BCV for Sept. The Ms said he made the reservation for a dedicated two bedroom with two queens 240 points. I was on the dvc member site and it had a choice of two bedroom with two queens or queen and pull out. The queen and pull out were only 217 points. The Ms never mentioned this option. What is the difference in rooms besides the obvious beds? Is one bigger or anything like that?
I just thought it would be nice to save those points for next year's vacation, but not altogether necessary.
Can I call and change my reservation to the one with lesser points without penalty?

Thanks,

Crissy

102 days till our first trip home!! :cheer2:

A 2 bedroom villa at BCV in September is 270 points for a week (including the weekend). The dedicated is the same number of points as the lock off.

We're there just 6 nights that is why it is 240 points. I'm not kidding if you go to the dvc member web sight point calculator it gives you the option of two queens or queen and pull out in the second bedroom and for 6 nights the queen/pullout is only 217 points. No where else in any of the books is that option listed, that's why I was curious.

Hummm... there must be a problem somewhere. I'll have to take a look.

If you look at the points chart in your vacation planner all September dates are 30pts for Sun-Thurs and 60 pts for Fri & Sat. This is for all two bedroom villas. The two bedroom villas are split into 3 different room types; lock-off, dedicated with 2 queens in the 2nd bedroom, and dedicated with queen/sleeper sofa in the 2nd bedroom. The type of two bedroom is chosen at time of reservation (either by you or MS).

So it should be either 210 or 240 for the 6 nights depending if you have one or two weekend nights in your stay.

As far as the difference between the two dedicated units... I believe it is just the beds. They are the same size. If you have 2 queen 2 bedroom your chances of getting pool view are slim. There are only 3(or 4) units out of 25 (or 28) with pool view, two of which are on the ends of the building. Most of the rooms are on the 3rd floor with none on the 1st.

I just went to the DVC member site and plugged in 6 nights in September (1 weekend night) and I got the same point total for both a 2 bedroom and a 2 bedroom with 2 queens. Are you sure you didn't end up searching a different resort by mistake?

I must have hit something different one of the times I did it yesterday. They both came up the same today. The Ms said that september is pretty open and I could pretty much have my choice of what I wanted. The only request I made was for non-smoking for medical reasons. He recommended the dedicated two bedroom with the children. Like I said it was no big deal to be able to save the points since I was going to give them to someone else anyway.

Thank you for double checking for me. I'm sure we will love any room we get since this is our first dvc experience.
