did they recently redue the rooms at pofq?
i thought i read something a while ago about that
how about with riverside

i ve look at alot of pictures from these resorts and have been liking what i ve been seeing.

anyone have a favorite from the two?

We stayed at POFQ last July, and thought I know they refurbished the food court and such, and I am not sure about the rooms. I found the rooms clean and nice, but some people are more picky than others. We never had a problem, and it wasn't dusty nor moldy.

Now, on picking which resort I liked better (We stayed at POR in 2000) that is a hard one. I really liked POFQ, as it is smaller and I thought it was very quiet compared to some of the other resorts. You really are close to the main building and bus stops.

POR, on the otherhand, has beautiful grounds, but you will have a walk on your hands. We stayed in Alligator bayou, and the room quality is the same as that of POFQ - I enjoyed the rooms.

If you are looking for quiet and relatively less walking, then POFQ is the one I would choose. If you want more scenery and walking, then POR is for you. It really all depends on what you are looking for. Either one is a great choice, in my opinion!

We stayed at POFQ in Nov. '02. We were booked (3 rooms) for Riverside but when I checked in there were some "issues" about accessibility and walking distances and to best accommodate our needs, the CM recommended shifting to the FQ.

That was an excellent recommendation. We got a good location close to the food court, the parking lot and the bus stop. Everyone loved the room decor. Which did appear to be recently updated - about a year ago.

But, there is a down side - only a food court, no sit down restr. and the themed pool is nice but not as nice as Old Man Island and there are not any quiet pools.

However, the bus service was excellent - and always got a seat since the buses pick up and drop off first at the FQ then Riverside. Also the FQ theming is lovely.
