POFQ in December?

@Griffin11 - this post is from someone in the POFQ info thread. It sounds like they were in the same situation as you, but the CM was able to keep them at POFQ and add tickets to their room. I'm choosing to take this as "don't lose hope just yet"! :rotfl: :rotfl:
That is good to know! Not up for another round of endlessly dialing today, but I may call back when things are less busy. Not sure if it was just a different CM, or the fact that it was already a "basic package" that was the difference.

My TA told me yesterday she doesn’t want to change my POFQ reservation for December right now as Disney is discouraging late-2020 modifications because there’s a chance the resort could be open. I know Disney put on their site that they’ll be reevaluating their plans for the remaining resorts as things go. I just wish there was something consistent right now.
My nephew and his fiancée booked Riverside for their honeymoon end of Oct to 11/9. They had a princess room booked. Their travel agent got them changed to Grand Destino Tower with water view today . No extra charge

They let me just add tickets to my POFQ basic package yesterday, although the CM did warn me about it not being open yet when he did so. Fair warning ... the entire call lasted 9 hours and 8 minutes: 2 hours on hold for the reservations CM to pick up and another 7 hours on hold waiting for someone from Guest Services because the first CM kept getting an error when trying to access my reservation. I have a suspicion that the error was caused by POFQ having no opening date yet, although I didn't ask.

Any phone CM that's telling anyone anything definitively about resorts in 2021 is shooting from the hip or just mistaken. The powers that be at Disney don't even know at this point. It seems as if they are playing things by ear, so to speak, leaving the option to open those additional resorts IF they can and the occupancy warrants it. My personal sense, based on other timelines and announcements, is that they are planning as if the remaining resorts will be closed until/into 2021. Many places aren't expecting things to resume to any air of normalcy until mid-late 2021 and I would expect the same for Disney, given the precautions they've been taking.

If I had a December trip booked at POFQ, I would try to move it myself to ensure I got a resort I was happy with. If you want to roll the dice and see where Disney puts you, that's an option too. Occupancy, attendance, and travel all around is low right now and will be for the foreseeable future, so I'm not sure availability is something I'd be concerned with.
