First you have to understand that it has been a long time since I've been to WDW. I think our last adventure to see Mickey was 2005. I have always looked forward to our Disney vacation as a time to reconnect with my husband of 32 years. We actually had never even taken a vacation since we were married until around 1990. Ok yes I know that makes us older than dirt! ;-) But, we went for the first time on a cruise/disney vacation and I was enchanted and totally hooked with the Disney experience. :lovestruc
I can still see, feel and imagine myself standing in the Downtown Disney area just after getting off a bus and entering in the little side entrance to downtown where the kids play in the water spouts. The picture spot the hustle and bustle and the call of "Please approach the purple elephant" in the distance from Rainforest Cafe.
That being said after having the fabulous opportunity of going to Disney about five times the last being 2005 we have not been able to go back. Then I found the PODCAST. I was am and always will be in heaven.:littleangel: I really didn't know what I had come across until in recent years our family has gone through some difficult times with my Mom being sick and then having some medical problems myself I looked forward every week to listening.:cloud9:
I was at home recovering from some surgery:sick: when it struck me as I listened :surfweb:to this wild and crazy bunch of people talk about all things Disney and being fabulously off topic from time to time that I really care about them.
I so look forward to Pete's rants and the Martin family news. I love Teresa and Kathys input and individual family news and experiences. John and Kevins reviews and views of everything under the sun. And Walter's addition has been great and he has really grown into his spot around the table hasn't he? And never forget Max the intern. I care about their individual up's and down's and rejoice in their joy and feel for their sorrow.
So if they don't already know it IMHO they mean so much more than a Podcast about Disney to so many people. It's a bright spot in my life when things are down and a treat in my week when everything is going fine. And right now we don't have any plans to come back to Disney any time soon but, I will continue to listen to this planning and informational Podcast because they are so much more than the sum of their parts. :grouphug: Thanks Podcast for everything from: DizzyGal a lurker and a listener and a true friend for life!party:

WOW!!! What a great first thing to read in the morning!!! :)thank you for sharing and listening to the show.

I totally agree. It's the strangest thing because I've never met any of the team in person and I know they couldn't pick me out of a lineup. For some reason though, it really feels like they are friends that have been living next door for the past four years. Thanks for being part of my life on a weekly basis!

Agreed! I often speak of them as if they are friends. It took awhile but now my dbf knows when I start with "Kevin said" or " Kathy mentioned" that I'm talking about the podcaster and not a co worker or friend here in the area.

Well said...there's a LOT of us that feel that way.

I feel the same way and can't express how much I have looked forward to listening every week over the past 4 years. No matter what life throws at me, all is good when I am listening to the Disunplugged crew! :goodvibes

I couldn't agree more. My DH and kids all tease me about my "friends". They'll say....."Did Kevin suggest this restaurant?"......."Did Kathy like this show?"........"Where did the girls suggest we shop?"....I get it all the time!

I love when people speak from the heart. Your unscrubbed personal truth spoke to me. I often think life BD and life AD. (before the dis) (after the dis)
It is amazing how much as a collective group we interact by "giving" and "receiving"... when I talk about the Dis podcast and the forums I sometimes don't think my friends and family get it. This post kinda sums it all up. Thanks. :goodvibes

Well said. I am glad you are here with us! It's a great place to be. :goodvibes

Beautifully said, and I feel the same way. I was fortunate enough to meet Bob, and some of the other podcast team at a gathering held at The Swan several years ago (may have been the first one). Then we met more at Bob's Memorial at Gaylord Palms, it was so touching to meet his son, wife, and many others as we all joined in Bob memories. A true family.
