This is great!! Stella 7 was just asking me if there would be kids her age. How about teens. Grace 14 needs a friend.:thumbsup2

Jennie will be with us. They already know each other from the December meet. :thumbsup2

Oh yay. I didn't know you changed too. We will have to try to get on the same bus. We will be coming from the Beach Club. Are you going to the Poly Meet too?

Yep, we sure will!!

That's too bad. Maybe he will stop before the cruise.

I hope so. He has gone a few days without saying the word (d@mn)... but he does say it when it is appropriate.

My oldest son is a psychology major in college. He was trying to prove something he had learned in child psychology about kids NOT picking up words if parents don't react to the shock of hearing their young child swear. We didn't react when Alex (the half-brained college student) tested Logan (the 4 year old with the mouth of a sailor) and he still says them. Now, 4 months later, I am reacting! :headache: Thank goodness Alex is going to go into addictions counseling and not child psychology.

Robbin is 11 but she'll be turning 12 the first week of June. We're not riding the bus but plan to arrive early at the port. We're also attending the Poly and Cape May meets. Robbin is a tomboy and likes most things 'boy'. Not a girly-girl at all. She can be very shy around adults and other kids too.

The word my DS used the other day was much worse than that. :scared1: Let's just say it started with a F. My son was also using it in context.:rotfl:He won't be saying that again.

We are not riding the bus.
Our plans have us in on Friday morning but we are visiting Kennedy Space Center/Cocoa beach Friday/Saturday. We won't be participating in any of the Pre-cruise meets :sad1:. But these plans have been made for our family for quite some time (and DH's only request has been to visit KSC).
We will be driving to the port (dropping off a rental/taking shuttle) the morning of the cruise.
Michelle

I have a DS who will turn 5 in two weeks and I'd love to participate in the kids meet!

We are going to be doing the same thing as you. I will wear my LGM on my bag in case we run into each other at KSC.

I will also put a LGM on my bag as well. I will look for yours too!

Great idea.

My son is 4 and he is much more comfortable meeting other kids when we are around.

Are you riding the bus Michelle? Is anyone with a 3 or 4 year old riding the bus from the Dolphin?

We have Julianne (3) and Morgan (15) and we are all riding the DolFUN bus to port. :)

I have Madi who is 11 and Em who is 8.

We will be at the Poly meet, Cape May breakfast, Muddy Buddy Race, and riding the bus.

:dance3:bump*bump

keep adding to our list if you are interested.

So far the top suggestions are
1. At port near the ship Model-question how long do we have to wait in the port terminal before we start getting on the ship? I don't want to hold up anyone's check-in process to board the ship. But if we have time to kill before this process takes place it may be good for the kids to meet/greet to help the time pass. (well the younger kids)

2. Pool-side meet on day one-before lunch may be less busy than after lunch. :confused3

3. Meet at 3:30-4:00 near Goofy Pool for a pre sail-away part meet. If the Cove Cafe is open maybe we could meet in there briefly and introduce everyone and go the the PARTY from there.

Just thinking of something quick for the meet/greet. :grouphug:

I think it is a fantastic idea to have a kids get together early on so that they can get to know each other. I am sure my DD would love any activity that the group can come up with.

I am not sure about meeting in the terminal because I am sure a lot of people will get there early (Don):lmao: and the people on the bus will be a little bit later. Maybe we could divide into groups? 3-7 (Oceaneer Club age) and 8-12 (Oceaneer Lab) and teens or 3-4, 5-7, 8-9, and 10-12 and teens. Just an idea. I don't even mind meeting right before the sail away party. It is a little crazy at that time, but a lot of fun.

I voted but I can do any of those options.

This thread has been very helpful to know the other kids and their ages.

we're driving and will be there for 10am (or earlier) so we're good with either port or mickey pool meet.

port might be better if it's bright so they kids won't have to squint for pictures ;)

i think things might be too rushed to meet just before sail away though.

Cassandra is super excited about going and handing out our FE gifts and meeting all the kids i've been telling her about.

see you all in a 2 weeks :):thumbsup2

My granddaughter Jadyn(9) is excited :yay: about meeting the DIS kids. We should be arriving at the port 10ish. A good time will be had by all!

Ok folks the poll is closed and it looks like the most popular choice was an informal meet/greet for pod-cast cruising kids at the terminal near the model ship display.

We are driving to port and will try to be there no later than 10:30am. The estimate for the Dol-fun peeps arrival is 11-1130.

Lets plan for 11 -? for introductions. Just keep introducing as more cruisers arrive.

I do have a list of families if anyone wants one please PM me and I will finalize it no later than Friday.

Also, anyone else that is just seeing this thread please consider yourself (and your kiddos) welcome to join us for introductions.

Thanks everyone and looking forward to meeting everyone!

I think it will be great! It will give the kids something to do while they wait. Looking forward to it!!!
